They are indeed very nice, both of them, though my preference is for the second version.

About the second version, I believe they don't need to be so minimalistic.
They will look really good if you add a Greek meander pattern on the top and bottom bands ( the parts of different hue).
Also I believe there is enough room at the right end for a picture of a sacrificial tripod with a flame in it, something like this one:

I like both styles but style 1 is very similar to the Rome II style so I prefer the second style!

Style 2 is more distinctively greek I'd say, and it's simplistic but good, has the potential to be really good. Nice work!

The addition of the meandric pattern is a plus.
I did expect it to be more contrasted, though.
Try making it black or blue, or thicker.
