Installation Problem with Medieval II Gold Edition

I'm having an error installing Medieval II Gold Edition off the box. During the initial installation there was an error, so I had to stop it. Then I uninstalled and deleted the files, but when trying to reinstall I'm unable to install disk 1.

The installation asks me only for the Kingdoms installation on disk 2, but I can't get to installing disk on. It doesn't have that options on the features.

Any help would be appreciated.

If anyone knows of a fix or a suggestion, it would really be great. It's not giving me the 1st disk option to even put the key in. It's as if the 1st stage of the installation in complete but it isn't. I installed it, and due to an error deleted it and uninstalled everything in the program installer but its as of it's still there.

So in total when I try to install it automatically takes me to the 2nd disk option and says insert disk 2. The kingdoms installation are fine, but the orginal game can't be installed.
