Jeese, Ive just gto BI and been playing quick battle until I had time to start a campaign,
when I did I went to war with the huns, they had perhaps 3000 men on the battle map,
once the fighting started my puter just turned to porridge, my spec is above the min

what sort of machine do you need to have fluid battle scenes while fighting a horde .

In terms of the battlemap, CPU is probably the most important as RTW is very CPU-intensive. If you are having problems, try reducing the level of detail in the graphics options, or reducing the unit size

For example, I have 512Mb RAM and a decent Nvidia graphics card which has 256Mb RAM, but my processor is only a 1Ghz Pentium, so my computer can only handle battles of up to around 2000 men (played on large settings), I don't experience slowdown but my computer will sometimes re-boot during battles larger than this because my CPU will over-heat.
