    Default Preferences questions

    I bought RTW Gold Edition and have a couple of questions;

    1. How can I get rid of the large interface at the bottom of the screen? Seemed like when I had the CD version of old you were able to reduce it's size.

    2. How do I increase the amount of money in the faction treasury? is there a place in the files someplace to add say $25,000?

    3. How do I do away with Brigands altogether?

    Regards.

    The User Interface? Go to wherever you installed Rome and open up the "Preferences" text file. Down towards the end-ish is "Minimal UI" - change that from False to True.

    Without just using the cheats? Go to wherever you installed Rome, then open the Data, world, maps, campaign, and finally Imperial Campaign folders (progressively). Open the descr_strat text file, find the faction you want to give the money to, and change the Denari amount.

    3. How do I do away with Brigands altogether?
    Same location as for 2, but you want to change the 'Brigand Spawn Value' that's right near the top. I don't know if you want to put it at 0 or 100, though .... I'd think 0, since they're not *that* common, but ....
    I beat back their first attack with ease. Properly employed, E's can be very deadly, deadlier even than P's and Z's, though they're not as lethal as Paula Abdul or Right Said Fred.

    The higher the rebel/pirate spawn number, the fewer of them are spawned. 80/80 will ensure you see very few of the rascals, since you may want to keep some rebel stacks for easy victories and man of the hour type stuff, promotions and adoptions and all that.
    Usually wise to back up original files to be on the safe side.
