Default Faction Leader doesn't become Emperor?

Yes, its me again, with yet another problem with the civil war. I've finally beaten the rebels and my leader from the civil war, Spurius Fabius Maximus, has finally died. But his heir didn't become Emperor. Why? Is it because I changed heirs at some point? Is it because he didn't die during the civil war? I mean, what the hell? Why does it have to be such a specific sequence?

Hmm, can't say for sure but if by changing the heir you mean you manually chose a heir using the crown icon on the family tree page, it might of messed your save up. That or perhaps you forgot to activate the script at one point or another.

I know for a fact that I didn't forget to activate the script.

Zuka, this issue has come up before. It's got something to do with the faction heir not receiving the right traits at the end of the civil war. I can't answer exactly why this is so but it is and will be so until the next patch so you're going to have to just live with it for now.

Well, I'm not restarting after three weeks. Is there a way to get it going with console commands? give_trait perhaps?

Wow, has anyone else not gotten an emperor after the rebellion? I'm fairly close to it but TBH I don't really want to bother if I don't get an emperor out of the deal. As for the give_trait command, I'm wondering the same thing...

Shouldn't be an issue. How many turns have you left it in order for him to become emperor?

I have now waited at least 10 turns and he hasn't become emperor. There is clearly something wrong here. Can it not be induced with the give_trait console commands? I really don't want to go back to my pre-civil war saves, especially when I don't even really know what exactly the criteria are for getting an emperor.

I was under the impression that it happens in one or two turns.

When, actually, does the rebellion end? And what is the criteria for your faction leader to become emperor? The rebels will still hold the island in the Baltic right? Unless the player bothers to bring them a visit there.

I think it ends when you've gotten back to 85 settlements, but your faction leader becomes Dictator for Life.

We have to activate a script to get the Emperor trait after the civil war ppl ? or the emperor just receives the trait after regaining the 85 regions again ?

By me is different. I played 3 rome campaigns and they all are different. The first, when the rebellion started, i had a message, that faction leader Julius Caesar is dead. then after few turns the faction leader (he had caesar trait) became emperor. the family tree changed also.
In the second campaign i didn't get the Caesar message, my faction leader became caesar, then became emperor.
In the third, no caesar message, no emperor. I only get caesar in the name.

So just for a confirmation, it takes several turns? I don't want to go too far if that isn't the case.

Could this have something to do with faction heirs not getting the "Princeps Electus" trait, and instead receive "Disinherited". This usually happens to me when my current heir dies and a new one is chosen.

Was this the way you changed heirs?

If so it's clear that noone in the actual thread would have a clue what you meant with the question
if it happened due to changing of heirs.

Not sure if it has influence on your actual problem but it sounds like a reason.

Later on in that thread I mentioned that I eventually just killed off some people before the rebellion happened, so no.

I hate to double post, but I really need a confirmation of whether I can force the emperors through give_trait commands. Does a dev know?
