    Default Difficulty of Stainless Steel

Would this be too difficult for a new comer to total war? Does diplomacy work and what bonuses does the ai get?

Yes it will be difficult don't go over easy.
And for a newcomer i would advise to play vanilla first seriously.

    Adding on to his question.

I'm not a newcomer, I've played SS 6.2, but I've never played the Supply System of BGR.

-Is the Crimson Tide blood mod. inside 6.3?
-You refered to install and play with noting selected by the 2 above (for the newcomer) so are all submods available and shown in this options section you mentioned? I'm assuming that these options would appear during the mods installation process, but does it include all the compatible submods?

    Finally, and most important question.

-Are the family tree problems fixed, were people stop having children although I have a high general to settlement ratio? I typically end my SS games midgame, because I typically play with only a Royal Bloodline (no adoption, no princess marriage so no foreign male lastname) and for some reason in the middle of the game my Princes will stop marrying and noone will have any children. My general to settlement would be high too, so I never could figure out why this happens. I would typically have 40 settlements and 23 Generals when this happens, and I end up starting a new game.

Those questions are answered in the release topic but:
    - Yes
    - They appear anytime you want after the install. You can switch options weeks later and start a campaign with other settings.

I'd suggest not having to many marriages / branches then. That really is a stock issue, we have zero influence on that game mechanism.

and/or pick easier factions , it's hard to lose with England at least
1180, an unprecedented period of peace and prosperity in East Asia, it's technology and wealth is the envy of the world. But soon conflict will engulf the entire region with great consequences and lasting effects for centuries to come, not just for this region, but the entire known world, when one man, one people, unites.....

I lost with Engalnd the first time I played a Medieval 2 total war game, vanilla, not SS..Didn't protect my archers from cavalry charges, didn't protect my governors from assassination, didn't pay attention to religious unrest or the heretics that was casing them and thus settlement rebellion, serious in the red money problems, etc. ........

Sorry... it's just that I'm still stuck on turn 4 in vanilla. Somehow installed some strange mod before hitting end turn.

I don't know that SS would be too difficult for a TW beginner if they have played other turn based strategy games or even only RTS. I basically started with RTW mods like ExRM and EB1 and played on H-H from the start and went to VH-VH after just a couple campaigns. If someone hasn't played any computer games at all or even besides adventure or FPS then SS could be a bit much. Some factions even in SS should be ok even for a TW noob. England and Byzantines in early era its quite possible to make many mistakes and still win for example.

I don't think I ever played any TW vanilla version aside from a loaned copy of Shogun after trying RTW. However I played many other games much more complex than TW which in the scale of strategy games is relatively simple mechanics.
