Default New Patch Released for RTW Needs to be checked.

    Hello,

Well CA released their patch, and would be nice to have some of you that have multiple copies to test it out and see if they fixed the bugs that were in 1.3 and whether anything New isnt working.

All feedback is important to see if its worth porting. I hope the Map issue is fixed so the maps are easy to port over, but I guess only the modders will know that. lol

Any lets hope they fixed what needed to be fixed and that its easy to port over unlike 1.3.

Well I'm happy to report that the pila and Brutii/Scipii naval expansion bugs are definately fixed. The Roman diplomacy seems to be working again as well.

There is a new feature in sieges:If your men are standing too close to the gate when it is smashed open, then they will get crushed by the gate.Same thing happens when the wooden walls get knocked down.

I haven't noticed any bugs yet in RTW 1.5,although in BI 1.6 the textures for the Alemanni chosen archers are completely messed up.

They still haven't fixed the Britannia banners on the Celtic Scotti chariots either.

I'll go back to testing 1.5 later but so far so good.

If you guys can help out by testing things for me, Like making sure the Heat and hardy bug hasnt reappeared, or that the charge bonuses work correct, and that The navel Setting when changed actually does something when the faction Likes Sea Invasions. Please making sure some of the other stuff. Maybe seeing if MM map loads on 1.5 without issues. Or some other vanilla map since your testing with vanilla.

You have to understand what type of testing needs to be done, didnt take too long about week to find the 1.3 bugs. Also its alot of work to convert IF it isnt made easy like with 1.3, Map, unit file was the worst for SPQR with 1.3 conversion.

Anyway, I am always game to improve, but only if its worth it. ;-) I wonder if Archer skymod works, or wall mod, there are alot of little mods I use we need to make sure work also, otherwise we lose those improvements.

See, they didn't abandon RTW! Will you test it LT?

Heh.Who says the AI can't do naval invasions?

I did some custom battles using the new patch to test if the hardy bug was back.

Test 1:Macedonian phalanx pikemen(regular stamina) versus Seleucid Silvershield Pikemen(hardy)

As expected the phalanx pikemen tired faster than the Silvershields.

Test 2:Macedonian Royal Pikemen(hardy) versus Greek Spartan Hoplites(very hardy)

The Spartans did indeed have greater stamina and were in fact barely even warmed up by the the time the Royals broke.

Test 3: Praetorian cohort(normal stamina) versus Samnite Gladiators(very hardy)

I made the Praetorians go straight to melee to make sure the battle wasn't over too quickly. The Praetorians tired a lot faster but won because of superior numbers.

The hardy attributes seem to be working just fine.I'll test out the heat and charge values later.

That picture looks like a good sign. Do the Greeks have a "prefer naval invasions" stat attached to them?

Does setting them to prefer invasion do anything in 1.5? Curious as to if that setting does anything at all?

Haven't tested it yet (thinking of adding it in for some factions in my mod), but in 1.3, playing on mundus magna it helped the britons to invade gaul by sea, and also iberia.

Well testing it no changes carthage tries to recapture caralis if you take it, and they even attack italy. ive had other factions doing naval invasions as well. looks like the patch really improves the naval ai, and you don't need to have prefers sea invasions set.

    More importantly, any faults?

Does the campaign difficulty affect the AI's aggressiveness in any way?In others words would setting the difficult to very hard mean the AI is more likely to use naval invasions than on medium?Or is it just purely for economical benefits?(I did my testing on the patch using VH/M)

On Running -AI I found the AI invading on Medium settings so I imagine its the same for all settings. but more money means more agressive. Also I didnt remove Diplomats so its yet to be seen how agressive the AI can be without them. They do invade more which is nice, and gives cause for Briton to have no Ships.

There is only 1 guy. lol But I am LOOKING into 5.0 for 1.5 But I will most likely have a version for 1.2 first then porting. 1.2 version is almost done.
