    Default Medieval2 on a laptop..a crime against eye-candy?

The magnificent splendour of those fortresses and battlefields deserves to be appreciated and savoured on a decent-size screen. Why anyone would buy one of those piddly alienware 11 inch gaming laptops for total war games is beyond me.

What do players consider the absolute minimum size screen required in order to fully enjoy the epicness of Med2 battles?

And ffs...dont be telling me that 11 inch screens are the dogs bollox.

Connecting up to a plasma telly is indeed doing justice to the game

My head hangs in shame as I recall a spot of 'emergency' Med2 gaming on an 18" laptop. A truly unpleasant experience and a sin for which I still pray for forgiveness.

Not sure I can still live with myself.

I've got an HP Compaq 6715b laptop. With a huge diagonal scratch across the screen, an injured right speaker (my brother was drunk, angry, and had the necessary tools to do the damage), and an integrated graphics card. More precisely, an AMD Radeon x1250. Look at the first cipher. ONE. If I played the game on a small unit scale, minimum graphics and the smallest possible resolution, I managed to get as much as 10 FPS.

I'm so glad I've got my desktop back.

The simple fact is laptop aren't made for gaming lol. If u play it then the guy should have a Cooling pad underneath and use MSI afterburner and set the GPU fan speed to 100% manually otherwise he is just killing the laptop.

Those gel-filled cooling pads are a sure-fire way of killing a laptop. Gotta be careful of the airflow using that stuff. I know a guy who had desk-facing exhaust vents....melted the gel, it went all mushy and blocked his cooling vents.....off to Laptop Heaven. what a plonker.

Total War on a laptop....shameful. gimme a decent screen Tried it once...never again

Haha, I actually play on an 11 inch laptop...

Seriously, if you get used to it, it's fine. Plus, I can play for hours on end, and would rather do it in the comfort of my bed and not sitting down on a chair.

In the end it's the game that matters the most not the platform. I play Vice city even though it's an old game on my PSP if i'm get bored from PC.

11 inch laptop screen matey? I'd go blind trying to play TW on that, and would need binoculars to see whats what!

Just wondering though, do you use a mouse or have you mastered all that touchpad stuff??

    No, definitely need a mouse

I guess ignorance is bliss. I've never played on a desktop, so it doesn't bother me. Plus, playing TW in bed is pretty much better than sex, and I can't bring a desktop into bed with me

Not to be bragging and all, but I beat several AI armies with my touchpad (heroic victories) and held my own in a 2v2 online...
