barbarian invasion faction unlock issues

I have a mac and am trying to add the non playable factions as playable factions on RTW barbarian invasion. I followed the directions, made a disk image, and copied and pasted the nonplayables into the playable section. They show up in the main campaign section, but when i click on one the game swiches back to the single player menu,(this is also true for previously playable factions) except i can't select anything and have to revert to the main menu. Do you have any idea how to fix this problem?? Thanks.

You probably forgot to put the end tags back on the end of every section. Check for that. This is exactly what happened when I helped my friend do this.

Some factions just don't work in BI... Romano-Brittish for example is an emerging faction.

Thats true, but they dont go back to Single Player menu, they crash the game...

Ok so i double and triple checked but as far as i can tell my ends are correct. Then i copied and pasted Supermoler's code into the file and the campain menu had the option to play the Huns, Vandals, WRE, slaves, and lombardi (that's it) and when i clicked on any of them i was sent back to the single player menu! any idea what going on??

Ok so i tried the mod and the game wont even open so ive put the original back in

Are you patched up to 1.6? And you need a fresh install before you install the mod files. You'd already tampered with your game. Did you follow the instructions in the readme properly? The mod does work, I've always used it. My best campaign on BI was with the Romano British. I also recommend downloading the unofficial rtw patch as it makes some necessary fixes that the official patches didn't address.

Is that mod for mac though? Would that change anything?

Don't see why it wouldn't work for Mac. I don't own a Mac so can't comment.

Ok, so i deleted and reinstalled the game and made sure everything was updated.
I downloaded the mod and yes i followed the directions correctly. and this time nothing happened. the playable factions worked but nothing else was an option. I checked back under the descr_strat file and all the factions were under playable, but i double checked and only the playable ones were options. I know that doesn't make sense, but that's what happened

Ok problem solved i stuck the descr_strat file from the mod into the original game and it works. thanks for all your help
