Need Help with cinematics?

well i am new to this mod and to RTW but when i found out bout this mod i almost crapped myself. as ia am a SUPER fan of LOTR and all of tolkeins work. (i watch movies weekly keep a copy of ROTK on my desk at all times and read the books numerous times) well i installed the full version and the 2.6 patch and it starts fine and its all good and when i go to make a new game it loads like normal than it goes to my desktop and shows a little clip of my faction or whatever than the clip ends and nothing else happens..... and when i click on the start bar to bring the game back up it no longer has the background and quotes ect but just a loading bar, and it starts to lload some more and then just goes back to that clip thing. i hav no idea what to do... PLEASE help i want to play this sooooooo bad!!!!!

Hm, what clip? BI doesn't have faction intros and we have disabled the starting intro...


Is your BI patched to 1.6?
Were the download and installation processes as they should be?
Have you installed at the proper folder?

first of thanks for reply i patched it up to 1.6 and i installed it to the folder i put my no-Cd patches into so i kno its the right 1 lol
the clip is just a bunch of my soldiers all cheering and stuff, ending with my flag. and its the same vid for gondor and the guys that broke off from them (forgot their name) its the same vid just with the other factions soldiers.... when i get home ill delete Rome and reinstall it then put mod back on and see if that works... ill post results here xP

nononono i own the game just my cd drive is crap and just randomly cuts out and stops working. it took me 4 trys to install it cuz it keeps dying my freind matt gave it to me cuz he got StarCraft 2 and doesnt play it anymore lol xP

well yea i deleted the whole rome game from my PC reinstalled which took 8 trys and 4 hours then installed the mod without patch launched and it did the same thing. then installed patch, and the SAME problom. my freind that i got the game from installed it and it works fine for him, at this moment he is conquering the lands of gondor with thr riders of the mark and im still stuck here looking at screenshots hoping a magical solution will apear.....

Well, if your friend got it right and you didn't you are either doing something differently or you are putting it on different installations. Perhaps your exe is not the right one.

The mod requires the BI 1.6 patch, otherwise it will not work properly. Patch your BI to 1.6, make sure your BI is 1.6 and your RTW is 1.5, and then install fatw. Not having a 1.6 BI and installing to the wrong folder are the only reasons the mod won't work.

You can't patch to 1.6 after you've installed FATW. You've to install the files in the correct order. First BI 1.6, then FATW, then additional FATW files like the music pack, Wars of Men and stuff.

ok. i asked my freind and he told me he got his Exe from mega upload. i got mine from fileFront and when i got it it was missing ".exe" from the end after i put it on it the installer worked but now im wondering if there was an issue with my DL for some reason... so today i will start over, again and see if it works. if it does i will be happy as frick if it doesnt i will just delete the whole rome thing... after i learned bout this mod i lost all interest in the normal RTW andf the RTW:BI, they just dont sound interesting anymore lol and if i cant get it to work on my pc i will jack his laptop for a few days and defeat some gondorian bastards xP

EDIT: oh and i also gotta wait for the god damn school to be out its 1:03 now and i have to wait till i get out at 2:50 my time and i probably wont get home till 4:30

this STILL happens idk what to do this is sooo depressing the "active movie" window still pops up and shows my factions army marching around... and when i try to bring back the game it just has a loading bar, no quote or pic or anything just bar, it goes about 1/3 of the way then it goes back to my desktop and plays video again....

Can you try launching the mod using the disk (after the game starts up, you can remove the dvd from the drive) and see if it still occurs? Make sure you have patched BI to 1.6 of course.

its patched 1.5 on RTW and 1.6 on BI (i beleive) when i get home ill post screens of that too

That's weird stuff. If I were you I'd just start all over again. Reinstall vanilla, patch to 1.6, install FATW. Or at least, delete the "ci" folder in your bi-directory and try reinstalling FATW.

Does this happen when you try and play the normal game or just FATW?

just FATW, BI and normal run just fine, and the custom battles run on FATW fine too, (ing dwarven army killed my elves!!! god Damned seige weapons :/) ive reinstalled this thing like six times now lol and does the same with disc in drive, and i have the same no-cd patches as my freind who gave me the game, and it runs fine for him :/

Custom battles running fine and campaign/historical battles not is a sign of BI/RTW not being properly patched.

i havnt tried the historical cuz they sounded boring lol but ill put screens up dude. xPits 12:31 now ill get out at 1:50 and ill be home at 3 ish. if i find out i patched it wrong im gonna shoot myself in thhe head lol

Play the Gorgoroth one (when you get it properly installed) and see if you find it boring.
