FOR LINUX USERS

HAMACHI
There is native hamachi for linux:
1) Download from https://www.vpn.net
2) You need to create an account here:
https://accounts.logme.in/login.aspx
3) There are gui for hamachi available here:
https://www.haguichi.net/download/
https://sourceforge.net/projects/ham...e=typ_redirect
4) Else, you have to use the terminal:
sudo hamachi login <your account email>
sudo hamachi create <room name>

GAMERANGER
It seems Gameranger does install on linux, as explained here: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManag...sion&iId=20206.
However, I was unable to see other players once the game is launched.

In case someone here interested to try:
1) you need to install wine
2) install winetricks and execute in command line:
winetricks -q mfc42
3) download Gameranger installer and execute
wine GameRangerSetup.exe

Bardo and me usually talk via Hamachi/Gameranger chat, like the old days xD

But I have also Skype and I can also download discord or something like that xD

(Also we are testing if the mod runs okay in Steam, the multiplayer I mean)

They usually use Steam since the game is in Steam. But we are not sure if the mod works online in the official Steam servers. If you have it in Steam we can test it if you want, but Hamachi/Gameranger is a VERY good way to play (also with almost no lag)

I had CD version too, that is why we used hamachi/gameranger. Theoretically, you can activate an steam version by introducing your CD key, but it never worked to me...
At the end I have purchased the steam version (Rome, alex and bi, for less than 3 euros right now). The mod seems to work fine, both in windows, and linux with wine. We are going to test multiplayer today around 18h, in case someone wants to join. Either steam or hamachi or gameranger.

You're almost done! You can click (right click) on the net´s name, and then "Open chat window" to say "let´s go to the battle!" and then, in the game, we appear in the multiplayer/lan lobby

Aexodus, once we all enter in the same room in hamachi, you just need to launch the mod (as if you were going to play alone), then in the game menu, press multiplayer -> LAN battles, and we should see each other in that multiplayer chat.

We have been testing Steam today, but for some reason we were able to play vanilla RomeTw, but not the mod. We will test more tomorrow.
