Light on Light Battles or Rushing?

Which do you do?

Take the Battle slow to exploit weaknesses or rush to open up a quick gap.

I used the "Light on Light" phase to open up gaps in my opponent's army to do an infantry assault/rush.

For Example:



You can also do a full out rush against your opponent before he can setup nor give off good enough volleys to stop your quick advance.

Example of Rushing:

i tend to mix it up personally-though i tend to go slower, and open up the gap slowly.once the gap opens up, then i rush

I tend to just sit in a corner with 20lb unicorns

yes, but most other nations have some form of elite inf. Elite lancers are extreamly good, but just don't match inf.

just rush at em and shoot them up...

I begin usually with a light on light battle.
After the skirmish phase and at the begin of the line shootout i integrat the lights between the line or at the flanks for firepower... but sometimes this not needed. Depends really.

If i want to rush i take just two/three or no lights at all... in this case, i cant have a light on light battle.

in say a 3vs3, when you are in the middle (as i so often am ), you will probably need lights, simply to keep your line solid, so your opponent can't force you back.light works wonders on the flanks of other armies in these situations though

I hate the middle on 3v3 i always go for a quick win and its not easy to try that in middle 3v3 so i have to have a boring prolonged light on light battle which is just annoying in my opinion. On flanks lights are and arent important it depends how you want to play, if you want to get a quick victory sometimes best to take a meatshield and some good line and cav and just overwhelm.

@Turumba if your gonna put your lights in with the line then make sure there is no enemy cav left or you have a line or 2 behind or you will find your lights an easy target for enemy cav

I normally just use my lights as a way to open up gaps and try to kill off my opponents. Then I move the rest of my army to take advantage of said gaps.

I combine/mix/intertwine all phases of battle into a huge unrelenting attack. Never remain engaged with only light infantry. Never leave cav idle and wasting behind your army. Never keep your infantry as a reserve to your light infantry.

role the hammer in and blast a gap. then pour whatever assets u have at hand thru the gap. simple, brutal but very effective when done right...

I like rushing at them and shooting at them. but i make sure to try to not put my army in a bad situation.
