Character not found...

I am having problems with giving traits to characters. I am getting the Character not found message in every attempt but one. The one being Otto the Honourable. I gave him the prolific trait by typing at the console; give_trait Otto Fertile 3. He was 97 and died the next turn, so it didn't do him anygood. I am having trouble with character's with two names and spaces between the names, and other stuff. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do to fix it?. And also what is the file with all the untarnished character names without the titles that seem to interfere with things ..

Put the character out of the settlement, select the character and use this command instead...

there's your problem he has a title to his name, goto family tree and look at his wife's last name (should be his) so IE her last name is hohenstaufen you do

give_trait "Otto Hohenstaufen" Fertile 3

Holy smokes, baby boom..

...in the Holy Roman Empire family tree line..I added the prolific trait to all of my family member generals at turn 80..(thanks Ishan, that worked great

)..At turn 80 there was no kids in the family line..One showed up at turn 88, 4 new members at turn 96, 2 new members turn 97, 3 new members at turn 98, 1 new member at turn 99, 3 new members at turn 100, 1 new member at turn 101, and no new members at turn 102, and that is where I am at now...
So there are

3 new von Schwabens
1 new Kempf
6 new von Hamburgs
2 new Landers
2 new stosses
1 new von Lothringen

The HRE family line has been rejuvenited and will continue on.. thanks Rabidsheeplegion, there can never be enough ways to do something.

If family have some double second name then must tipe give_trait "Agnes von_Hohenstaufen" Fertile 3

What's really confusing is the ones that are blarg-blarg for a first name, rather than a last name like of_blarg. Thanks for the "this" comment, I never knew about that.
