Anyone interested in Top-Shelf Elite Mercenaries - Mumakil, Battle Trolls, Balrogs etc?

Ever wonder what it would be like to invade Mordor, recruit a mercenary unit of Battle Trolls and raise hell? Or maybe take a boat to Harad, hire some wandering Mumakil and siege the capital? Maybe that's too much to swallow, maybe you just want to be able to recruit a unit of Swan Knight Infantry mercs on Turn 1 as Gondor but don't want to be able to build them every turn as some mods already allow?

Yes, purists, this is ridiculous, but it's also really, really fun and until now only available to those that know how to mod their own files.

Thanks to the awesome modding walk-throughs on this site I am finally comfortable enough with the game files to add different units to the mercenary pool. This would allow any unit to be made into a mercenary company (potentially recruitable by ANY faction or only select factions depending on which version of the sub you choose.)

The problem is that it requires a helluva lotta work (relatively - I'm just a beginner, heh). 5 different areas need to be changed for each unit in order for them to work properly. This also means that the changed files will probably not be compatible with most other subs since these are fairly commonly changed files. I will only take the time to do this and release a sub-mod if there is sufficient interest, as I won't be playing with these types of units in my own game

No, I will not make a special version just for you based on the subs you already use, if I do this, I'm doing it once for anyone to use
No, I will not re-color or change animations or other values in any way from vanilla TATW cuz frankly I don't know how and am not interested to learn (yet)
No, I don't plan on adding these units to other factions as recruitable via buildings. Being able to /MAKE trolls in Gondor would be a teensy bit beyond what I'm willing to suspend my disbelief to allow. Imagining a group of trolls that wandered away from their keepers and decided to hire themselves out to whoever would pay/feed them strikes me as just slightly less ludicrous (admittedly not much )

If interested give some ideas of units you would like to see made available and where. If not, just let this thread die the lonely death of 1,000 other bad ideas - flaming will only keep it on the front page LOL.
