    Default Unit Release

I know that certain higher grade units are only made available as history progresses on, but when can I expect to be able to recruit my beloved longbowmen playing as the english early era 2tpy?? currently on turn 33, summer of 1116 AD.

No, I don't know what are the no of turns equal to in years(in descr_strat.txt) but:-

date 100 115 means if the campaign is starting in 1080( i presume SS uses this)
Then the event will occur at random in between 1080+100=1180 to 1080+115=1195 A.D..

so does that mean that because SS starts at 1100 then it will be between 1200 ans 1215? that fits with what has happened to me when I was England, also I assume that 2tpy has made alterations so this would still happen in same year rather than same ammount of turns?

Actually, in that respect it only modifies a few parts of the campaign script, where it is turn based.
It doesn't modify descr_events, since as Ishan said, that file uses years, not turns.

Hmmm... Interesting.. That would mean sometime in the early 1200's. Which makes sense I suppose. But seems so far off.

Thanks for looking this up! I'd +rep you if I could!

But Silven play his campaign with 2TPY sub mod, and so do I. Therefore he have to wait about 200 - 230 turns ( 100 - 115 years correlatively )?

Hm, for some reason, in 2TPY show that it's also in 100-115 turn. Weird.
edit: ok, so i think it's the year that is shown, not turn

Yes that is correct, historic events defined either in the CS or descr_events.txt file are the numbers which represents the years not the turns.

In SS6.3 one turn is equal to how many years? 2 years or 6 months or something else?

If you are playing 2TPY (Which I assume most people do) then one turn is equal to 6 months. SS 6.3 Early Era starts at 1100AD so by these assumptions, it takes 200 to 230 turns at around 1200-1215AD to reach the required event trigger.
    (boooooo... )

Alternatively there is an option to play the mod at 1TPY, but from my understanding not many people play this anymore since the cry for 2TPY was long lasting and has finally recently been achieved.

Conclusion So thats sums it up the date of the event is:-
date 100 115, means if the campaign is starting in 1100
Then the event will occur at random in between 1100+100=1200 to 1100+115=1295 A.D
Means if a single turn is equal to 6 months=0.5 then:-
    100/0.5=200 and 115/0.5=230.
The event will occur at random between turn no. 200 to 230th turn.

Damn that's way too long and the OP is at only turn 33.

Is the event trigger the same in the late campaign?

I did not switch to 2TPY when the option became available, as I had already adapted my sub-modification to 1TPY. After I complete my current, early campaign, I planned to start a late campaign, to avoid waiting as many turns for heavily armored troops.

Longbowmen are already availabe in late campaign, if that's what you asked

The events are based on actual history time so if the late campaign starts >1295A.D. Then this event will be present automatically from the start.

Welsh Longbowmen can be recruited earlier as mercs. 1220 is still quite early for LBmen historically actually.
