Can't release/ransom/execute prisonners?

Not sure if I've missed something or this is a bug. I have yet to fight another faction at this point it has only been rebels I've allied with the rest (currently playing england allied with scotland/france) but so far, there is no scroll after the battle that allows me to release/ransom/execute the prisonners.

Is it a bug? can't do it with rebels? or are they autmatically ransomed depending on how many you managed to capture during the mission?

SS 6.3 all latest patches.
Bugfix has also been extracted into the dirs
Game seems to run fine indefinately except for this feature

You can't release or ransom rebels.

At least you get spoils of war, a little reward is always nice.
