    im goin to try to learn to mod so i can make a mod about the era of 1845-1914 A.D. since i could completley change the Campaign map i could probaly do that and i played a few other mods where they had guns ingame all i hav to do(i still dont expect it 2 b easy) is make models and i could change the ballista madel to make a gattling gun by raising the rate of fire alot and do the same 4 other units make a gun and raise the rate of fire the 4 factions i know 4 sure ima add is California,USA,Texas, and Mexico im not sure bout the confedracy unless i find out its possible to change the events to get the CSA ingame my plans 4 each of the 4 factions i know 4 sure bout r

    California: it will be pretty hard u'll hav 1 region called Sonoma it'll hav a fort in it with 3 miltia units in it to represent California wen it held the Fort they got from Mexico and the city will hav bout 3 units of miltia, 1 cannon, and 2 cavalry

    units i plan on having 4 the faction:

    California:

    Infantry:
    Frontiermen
    Miltia Musketmen
    Miltia Rifles(armed with winchesters)
    Regular Infantry
    Sharpshooters
    Bolt Action Rilfes(i plan on adding bolts to the game but it will be a unit u can only hav wen u hav the highest barracks lvl)
    Californian Guards

    Cavalry:
    Frontier Horses
    Miltia Cavalry
    Gunner Cavalry(there be armed with the Spencer Carbine)
    Regular Cavalry
    Professional Cavalry(armed with Colt .45 revolvers)
    General Guard

    Artillery: most factions will hav same artillery peices
    Light Cannons
    Heavy Napoleon(the diffrence is ima try and put the M2TW explosive shell)
    Gattling Guns(like i said earlier ima change model for repeater ballista and move rate of fire up alot)
    Vickers Gun(we'll c if i can make this)

    Great idea, but you should add some natives or it will be not western! In 1845 there were lots of tribes... I'm looking forward on this!

    im actually thinking first on wat factions and units they'll hav b4 i start anything(even learning to mod a game, just 4 the record it kindve does look complicated but ill get it i thought putting a mod in a game was complicated but i got it after some time) im from California, USA(its not a city if some ppl r wondering) so if some ppl wonder y i chose 1845 as a starting point cause california was a country in 1848, the problem i want to add alot of factions to the map, im not talking like 15+ im just saying the 1's that seem really intesting but i will take suggestions i dont wanna make another huge post but i will say a few other factions i figured i was definetly putting in and a few changes i thought of to make it a bit more sense to it

    ok the new Factions i will add is listed below:

    British Empire(Canada and Washington commonwealth)

    Spain(just the little islands in the carribean and SURPRISE the Hawain islands srry if i spelt the islands wrong i never pay attention to the name lol )

    Soiux Natives

    Camache Natives

    the changes ill be making will b that im making the map not just the west of N. America ill most likely add almost all of N. America for the British Empire, USA, and Mexican Empire ill definatley say those 3 factions will be the largest and most powerful so if u play as them u'll most likely hav along time till u take 1 over and if ur a hardcore type player who plays on the highest battle and campaign u'll most likely face huge rivalry between all 3(im most likely to play as California lol the real challenge)

    1 more thing who ever reads this little thread ima hav a vote to include Alaska and Russia all u hav to do is quote this post and say yes and pls tell me y im not sure if u should

    EDIT: wen i find out wat units 4 each new faction ill post em

    ok guys i got some bad news and good news i found out how to make models in rtw ill get to that as soon as i can bad news is my pc crashed after i was trying to download the tool for modeling it got the trojan horse so i tried healing it it said restart pc and now after a series of retarded events my pc wont start, but i promise that once it comes back i will start this mod o yea more news this goes wit other voteing im thinking of changeing name to Frontier:TW tell me wat u think if i should or shouldnt and wen my other pc comes back online ill start working also more good news:

    SENSE MOST LIKEKLY TO MY LAST VOTES I WILL ADD ALASKA TO THE MOD WEN I START WORKING ON A MAP, i may even add east russia ill c on that 1, 1 more thing regions: Hawaii, cuba, and other carribean islands(not including Hawaii that 1 is in the Pacific) will be added and sounthern N. America will b added 2 add full extent of Mexican Empire, and All of Cananda

    yea thats the same virus i got np though i might get my pc back up and running 2day or 2mmorow i got a guy coming to fix it

    and once thats done ill ask around the tutorials 4 a safe link to the modeling tools then if i get 1 done fast(or equipment) ill post it

    EDIT: if u didnt know wat all ^ meant it means in a simplified way im goin to get my pc fixed and im learning to model units(its actually not as hard as i thought lol) and if i can find a safe link to the mod tools i will start working on the mod

    If your not willing to pay for 3dsMAX, get GMAX and make your models there, then get the 3dsMAX trial and export them.

    Its a nice idea! maybe for rebellions you could do the Native americans and the Outlaws...
    Though, isn't this a better mod for Napoleon TW?

    ok guys srry i havent posted anything in awhile its im waiting for my other pc to get fixed and i will post units for the Native American factions and answer a question that is really easy

    first Valkar im not doing it on NTW because theres no way i can mod the campaign ima try once my pc is back up and running to model some units and get a team to launch a major version at first with a small campaign and most of the factions i told u about, i already listed down ideas im thinking of for later releases ima try to make some sub mods about diffrent major parts in the conflicts the 3 im thinking about r:

    A Civil War Sub-Mod: since i told u in my first post the mod takes place between 1845-1914 i couldnt add the Confederacy but if i could make a sub mod add on that adds a provicial campaign with the Confederacy playable and enabling it in the small battles u can play

    Indian Wars: This 1 i thought was pretty intresting soiux nations versus the USA in a small campaign with the map featuring over the USA states S. Dakota, N. Dakota, and Montana

    WW1: this 1 i would be completley excited to make another provincial campaign (that if its possible) make the walls of forts and settlements trenches, this 1 will most likely feature in its map the eastern parts of North America and the western front of the war, i learned germany asked Mexico if it wanted to b part of the Central Powers so, i thought it b great if ppl who played the campaign had a choice as either Cananda, Mexico, or America in 1917 to decide what side they want to go with allies or the Powers

    hey guys im thinking of changing the name i would like if u guys could post suggestions or just pick 1 i thought of (plz dont say something that includes something about outlaws or gunslingers remember the mod only is going to feature outlaw rebels or somewhat not full fledge factions, i might make a sub mod based around the old west about outlaws and gunslingers, 1 more thing remember this mod is mostly about the small young nations that were being created in the 1800's and other things that would take up much of this post) ok anyways after that long hint of wat not to put in the name these r my ideas

    1. America: Total War

    2. Frontier: Total War(this is taken by another mod srry)

    3. or keep it the way it is at, Old West: Total War

    P.S. my pc will b fixed Monday so ima start working on it then

    srry 4 the late reply man but i am learning to model first then ill move to something else, i am waiting 4 ppl who want to help im not the person to randomly ask if they want 2 help

    hey guys srry its taking awhile just to show u the tiniest bit of the mod but its taking alot longer than it needs to be fixing my pc, so im just waoting for tyhat and kindve get a small team 2gether 2 figure out a plan, also I figured out the new name i would like 2 thank Keneticpest for giving me the idea i would like to name it "WestWard: Total War" so ima try and find a few more major tribes and c if they'd b a good faction

    As always im open up 2 suggestions to campaign thoughts, sub mod that r planned later in the mod, any research found i would like 2 know, unit ideas, and if any1 would like to help in this mods progress that b great 2
