    Default Kingdom Of Bohemia

I wonder why do mods include Wales hell even Ireland to Mali haha but not Kingdom Of Bohemia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Bohemia

Does not make sense to me at all.

Anyone here played or still plays like me Crusader Kings ?
Well in that game you have the right status compare to any video game out there in the medieval setting.

Because Bohemia has to have its own units and everything made, but I do see what you are saying. I personally find it best if the larger, more important nations would replace the minor ones like Ireland.

I like playing as Ireland, but I agree that historically, it does not make sense to include them as a faction. At this point in history, Ireland was not a unified kingdom, but a series of small independent fiefdoms, so having all the provinces as rebels would make more sense.

Wasn't Kingdom of Bohemia part of HRE? I agree that HRE is made too simple, and that the states are molted into an un-natural modern state, but such is the thing with everything else in M2TW. (recruitment, buildings, etc.)

    @kaiser,

I just love the concentrations of many factions centred around each other.
    England, Ireland, Scotland, Norway.
Flanders with England, HRE, France, Denmark.
Armenia with Turks, Greeks, Franks, desert tribes (Abbasid), Egypt, Georgia around it.
Teutonic and Lithuania with Novgorod, Kiev, Denmark, HRE, Norway.
Milan, HRE, Venice, Papal States, Sicely, Hungary.

It creates these unbalanced state-pockets of different characters in a concentrated area.

Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

probably a second HRE-part - like the civilwarfeature in "dhrr" one popefriendly and one imperial part of the hre.
i think the maincampaign try to show this, as the rebel regions (saxonia, bohemia and burgundy) are not part of the starting provinces.

So to me a second hre faction (that includes bohemia) make the most sence.

if somebody of DLV team will think about adding Bohemia, the HRE mod has this faction and also Portvcale http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=103905 (I think Portvcale has many units and things from original Bohemia mod, author Methoz).
    sorry my english.

    Can you mod it?

Ireland might be switched for the KoB with the units drawn from the HRE and neighbouring faction rosters. Having Ireland as named independent soverienties (strong rebel stacks) would make it a tough place still to invade.

Okay thanks for the reply yea im new to modding this will be my training i give it a go.

    From the Wikipedia short brief:
The first to use the title of "King of Bohemia" were the Přemyslid dukes Vratislav II (1085) and Vladislav II (1158), but their heirs would return to the title of duke. The title of king became hereditary under Ottokar I (1198). His grandson Ottokar II (king from 1253–1278) conquered a short-lived empire which contained modern Austria and Slovenia. The mid-thirteenth century saw the beginning of substantial German immigration as the court sought to replace losses from the brief Mongol invasion of Europe in 1241. Germans settled primarily along the northern, western, and southern borders of Bohemia, although many lived in towns throughout the kingdom.

Most importantly what drives me to play this faction is:
    Luxembourg dynasty

The House of Luxembourg accepted the invitation to the Bohemian throne with the crowning of John I of Bohemia in 1310. His son, Charles IV became King of Bohemia in 1346. He founded Charles University in Prague, central Europe's first university, two years later. His reign brought Bohemia to its peak both politically and in total area, resulting in his being the first King of Bohemia to also be elected as Holy Roman Emperor. Under his rule the Bohemian crown controlled such diverse lands as Moravia, Silesia, Upper Lusatia and Lower Lusatia, Brandenburg, an area around Nuremberg called New Bohemia, Luxembourg, and several small towns scattered around Germany.

Haha an idea after my own heart! I know the desire to add in a new faction is strong; and I actually appreciate the historical reality of replacing Ireland with the more substantial Bohemia. I think all of us, if given a map region limit of say, 350 settlements, could think of 45+ factions to include. But we're stuck with 199 settlements and 30 factions.

If anyone wants to take on changing Ireland to Bohemia, I could provide a good deal of advice on what files an folds need to be changed, as I have some experience in that field haha.

    TQ
