One thing I was ever discontent of was the lacking of new portraits in nearly all rome mods.
Mods accomplished so many tasks that we can talk of a new game, but the portraits I felt, do in some way influence the immersion negatively.
Direct copied/pasted from the "RSII Submod" Forum ... lazy
Originally started as a RSII Submod I decided to enhance it further.

- reworked,deleted/changed many of the old "new" portraits for better visual experience

- 40 new portraits for the Roman faction "real" style taken from Rome(Series), Gladiator and other movies(with death cards)

Installation:
100% savegame compatible
simply past the "roman" folder into your games data ui folder Rome - Total War/Data/UI <-
and Play_Rome/Data/UI

Future:
- The game still uses the old ones too need to fix that.
To solve this I need your help to stop Rome from using vanilla ones.
