    Default Protectorates and Imperial Campaigns

    3 Questions:
First of all, in the Imperial campaign, my info board currently says 22 more provinces until i win. However, there are more provinces than this, can you continue playing(this is my first time).
Second, How do protectorates work? For example: I had 750K denarii, and i payed 80K denarii to make Egypt my protectorate. Then, next turn, im left with 90K denarii, having spent nothing in the last turn, why is this?
This leads on to my third, do protectorates count as owned provinces?

    Thanks for replies.

Don't know, but diplomacy is dodgy in RTW so you're be better off focussing on your military

I don't think so. I'm not being very helpful am I?

But welcome to the forums anyway

IT seems to me the only reason to even do diplomacy is basically to trade with them until you attack or they attack you...and of course to bribe settlements or generals you may want in your army...

A protectorate (or vassal) is a faction which has given it's independence away. It essentially means three things:
    1. That you have an alliance and military access with your vassal
    2. Your vassal has to give you have of their income each turn.
    3. Your vassal is still a faction and they own their provinces.
    Hope that helps.

    Welcome to the forums!

Yes, if you have a protectorate, their regions count towards your 50 for the goals.
