Seems like he's not been online since late november. He was waiting for a new PC so maybe that's why he's not back yet.
Anyway, cool to see that L'Aigle's beautiful work is going to be incorporated in LME, thanks to PDGuru who made it available as a minimod, I just can't play the game without them now.
FRENCH LEGERE AND OLD GUARD CHASSEUR SUBMOD FOR 1.6 BETA 2.1
The attachment does the following:
1. Provides standard bearers to the OG Chasseurs, 6th Leger, and all Chasseur units
2. Changes those units to ligne formation and spacing - open order is an option, not the default
3. Removes hiding ability of OG Chasseurs except in woods - they we not the type of chaps to hide...
4. Enables these units to form square

Installation: Add the mod to the top of your user.script.

Quick Question, the music in the Egypt campaign is AWESEOME, is there a way to get the total music package to play across the regular campaign? and european battles?
Inspired by a feature of the latest release of TROM2, I have had a shot at creating a special unit which represents the French attack column for LME. My aim is to create a unit that provides a way to punch a hole and disorder an enemy line in just the way the French did it, and to visually represent a column as an awesome sight...
The attachments adds the unit with its own icon. I also include a loc text file for the 1807-13 campaigns.
1. 360 men strong, 12 ranks deep, high mass value, with more space between lines to increase visual impact
2. Slightly stronger melee but awesome charge bonus
3. Slightly higher morale than fusiliers (to simulate bravado recorded by writers of the period)
4. Only a few rounds of ammo fired en-masse (unit is militia class); the columns will fire a few rounds and charge!
5. Same uniform (L'aigle) as Fusiliers
6. Unit inspires friendly units, and causes fear in the enemy
7. Moves a little faster than standard ligne units
8. There's a limit of only 10 of these units available for France in campaign
House Rules/Tips:
a) Do not change the formation.
b) Switch off 'Fire at Will'.
c) Manoeuvre only by wheeling and clicking on required location.
d) Screen the column with skirmishers or bring it up behind a line.
e) Charge and Melee - don't wait to fire. You'll take too many casualties. Ammo is only for self defence when required.
Here are some pictures...

Columns advancing...
Cannonballs rent long, wide holes...
Cannister creates a mess...
Firing before the charge...
Installation: Place both files in your data folder (replacing the LME loc. file) and add "French_Column_Unit_Release3.pack" to the top of your user.script.
Feedback welcomed.

Glad you like them - the one below made me smile - looks like the third guy from the left is flinching and thinking " - that nearly got me!" Image also shows off the new bayonets nicely.

LOL
I like your bayonets looks more realistic than vanilla ones
also that French attack column looks brilliant is it compatible with a saved campaign or would I have to start a new one?
this is probably not possible but I saw this: During the Peninsular War, British riflemen of Craufurd's Light Division marching to engage the enemy but uncertain of the presence of enemy cavalrymen in the area could adopt a formation called "column of companies." Each company would form into two files of about thirty ranks and march close to the company in front. If attacked by cavalry, they could easily bunch up, forming a schiltron of bayonets that would be proof against unsupported cavalry.
could this be added in any way? cheers

There is I've asked Sir Digby and permission is obtained. Will be included in next release.
Yes it is compatible with savegames!
I don't think those formations are possible because formations are "hard"-coded by CA

I was thinking that the square formation can be changed (depth etc) so maybe it could reflect this? would be better than stakes for light infantry. Also can the "March to the sound of the Guns" mod http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=384464 be added so it only effects land battles? cheers one more thing maybe adding the mods that give the generals variety might be a good idea ? http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=377746

I agree that it would be better than stakes but I don't think the composition of a square formation is possible to change.
The march to the sound of guns conflicts with our own music mod, so it would be better to use as a separate "sub"-mod.
Increases the artillery-unit-sizes by 25 - 30%. This mod alters the balance minimal, but it does. This Mod allows you to play LME also with large, medium or small-unitsizes.
Is the Column attack install the same for when I use the Mod manager? Can I just place the file in the data folder, and activate using the manager?
I don't use mod manager. Just add "French_Column_Unit_Release3.pack" (without quotes) to the top of your user.script. If you use MM I believe it should work fine - just check the box and move it up the list order.

Here, with L'aigle's permission, I will be releasing a mod that will provide L'aigle's new Chassuers and 6th Legers skins, and update other skins that L'aigle has revised by providing the latest atlas and variant files. It will also bring up new skins for Line Lancers, Chassuers a Cheval, Dragoons, and Curassiers (but will simply re-use the vanilla info cards and icons).
This will give us a nice update and some new treats... and leaves the main pleasure of L'aigle's massive contribution and effort to his main release.
Pictures below show new skins. Also notice that L'aigle has introduced variability to shako plates on some units (eagles on some and diamond plates on others) to reflect the transition between 1813-14. Also, the eagle now has the plate under it for the regiment number (but has a generic mark since regiments cannot be diffferentiated that way). Note that the pictures below show additional mods that add standard bearers for Chasseur units and enable them to use line formation.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
New Chassuers
6th Legere
Voltiguers
Grenadiers - notice plates - it's the same on the fusiliers. Green jackets for musicians.
Lancers
Dragoons
Chassuers a Cheval
Curassiers
I will be posting the mod here soon.
iutland: I have created this using beta 1.6.1 and it works fine... unless you have subsequently changed any of the uniform references (I hope not!). The only ptoblem I have found so far is that I had to remove one of L'aigles atlas files (the imperial_guard one) as it clashed with the one you use for the 1e hussars. That seemed to fix the problem.

Since we have gotten our own sub-mods forum now i would highly advise you to make a specific thread with each submods so it will be easier to find the mod you seek
