    Default archers secondary fire

    hi all!!

    does anybody know how could i give it them back??? i really like this mod but i would like to set fire arrows back...i see that after than patch 4.2 it's back for elite archers like sherwood archers but for example i'm playng as scotland and any kind of archers which i can recruit is able to use fire....

    so all done ...thanks anyway...

    well now..i was just guessing if that would be possible to set it for different kind of archers which all use classic arrows instead of bodkin...for example i would like to set paesants archers with no fire arrows and for example highland archers with fire arrows...

    ok slighlty confused here you say all done (what did you do ??) if you changed the fire ability of archers you will see it has indeed been tied to what sort of arrow they use as to wether or not they can use the fire arrow ability as seen in the descr_projectile file, it is indeed the bodikin arrow that has been given the flaming version so simple any type of archer you feel would use flaming arrows give them bodikin arrow in the EDU(Export_descr_unit).

    PS please rememeber that these forums are for discussion of the mod in its current form and not to learn how to mod the game yourself all future thoughts like this (which again i am not sure if its a statement or a question ) should be directed to the mod workshop section of the med2 forums there you will find detailed (and very good ) tuts on how to mod pretty much all areas of med2 and its mods.

    check out the FAQ it has a very easy solution to get all secondary fire back for archers catapults etc thats frequently asked questions the first post has the solution .

    i just changed descr-projectile ...but u right...i could even directly change edu...i didn't think about that...

    hm hm hm...sure it was a question ( i thught that was clear...may sry for my english )

    i know what u mean but some times i prefir to ask here cause for some changes i don't know how's the effect on the mod...but in this case u're right..i could directly ask, to the mod workshop section ..( anyway...is that a rule?? or it's just ur point of wiew?? cause i've always seen answers in this and other mod treads, to questions like mine without anybody sayng that rule. Iìm just curiose to know it...for me there's no problem )

    thanks a lot for ur answer and for the mod which i think is really funny...( except something that doesn't work but it regards just xbai..)

    Not so much a rule as more a common courtesy thing besides that the mod workshop will yield in general better answers, as well many people in a forum for a mod will answer without knowing the answer just having a crack at it or passing on what they heard once etc etc and it is quite often wrong or only part right .

    where the mod workshop has many tuts (that tell the whole story ) and are frequented by the best modders in TWcentre so its your best bet .

    You didnt contradict me at all read my post above i mention giving bodikin arrow in the edu but i also mention modding the descr_projectile file for both methods of achieving what you want

    I'm now going to contradict SF
    All you have to do is :
    go to the unit you want to change in EDU
    Find the line- stat_pri 5, 1, arrow, 120, 25, missile, missile_mechanical, piercing, none, 25, 1
    Now change "arrow" to "bodkin_arrow".
    You should now have that unit with the fire arrow ability!
