    Default Third Rebellion

Okay, so I did a replay of the second rebellion where I lost 80 out of 90 provences. This time it seemed more resonable - about half. Then I proceeded to take it back. Re-conquered of of Italy, parts of Sicily, North Africa, Greece and Spain in one turn. Then there was a Third Rebellion! And every single city I had won back plus more rebelled again!

Is this endless? I mean does this go on forever. Frankly I am a little sick of it as it makes no sense what so ever. I mean if it was a question population unhappiness or a weak garrison or some other factor that made sense - but it doesn't and who knows when it will end. I am now 750K in the hole, my armies decimated in taking back half the empire in the first turn and now with no way to re-build them and no way to take on the endless spawning stacks with 10-star generals after each successive rebellion.

    Is this suppose to happen?

I've weathered the Second Rebellion and taken back all the provinces that had been lost. To this point, I don't see much of any sign that any of my cities are willing to risk the same thing again. Though I believe that someone, in another thread, mentioned that the possibility of a Third Rebellion is very remote. Make sure to keep the public order rating up and keep a moderately sized garrison in the cities, but some require more than others, so be careful.

Are you playing RS II with BI? in BI, rebellion could be sparked by the game engine alone.

When playing as Roman, I personally like to fight with 3rd or even 4th Roman rebellion because I regard that as a challenge. You gain satisfaction when you put the rebellions down, right?

Yes, tried again and both survived and are probably hiding in some vineyard in Italy or Asia Minor. I took it through the third turn of the Second Rebellion, or is the the first turn of the Fourth Rebellion? I have kind of lost track becasue it keeps self-perpetuating itself!

Now, on the third turn after the Second rebellion and every city I captured in Italy has rebelled for a third time, along with a couple others. I mean is this just some cruel joke? I am now 1 Million - Yes, that is 1 M-I-L-L-I-O-N in DEBT!!! No matter how many cities I take back or how small my forces become, the debt just keeps growing. Maybe I should just put the populations to the sword and see what happens.

My armies are exhausted and outnumbered. There is no money to rebuild damaged cites or military units. Every turn just keeps getting worse - I mean - I am almost laughing hysterically because it is so absurd!

I don't mind a good challenge. Really. But this..., this is so ridiculus I have given up. I am not playing 0-turn recruitment again.

I played the game for the enjoyment factor, but hell, if you guys call THIS enjoyment, you must all live sadistic lives.

Basically, I don't think it's supposed to happen, but there is always the small chance that the script in RTW screws up and triggers it again.

Hmmmm.....I'll have to look at the traits conditions. It's certainly not meant to happen, but could possibly if both the faction leader and heir died in the same battle. I'll take a closer look. Did your faction leader become "Imperator Caesar" at any point?

Is that a trait? I don't re-call seeing that. I'll go back and look again. I know with third rebellion the faction leader did die. Not sure about the heir.

So it sounds like from other experiences it does happen. Not unusual, just some awflully back luck.

    --------------------------

Just checked traits and national leader did not have the "Imperator Caesar" trait, although he did have the "Dictator" trait.

As I've explained above, there's clearly some error with the traits.

So please don't keep thinking that this is intentional as it's not. My apologies for this, and it has nothing to do with one turn.

Just stop your campaign for the moment and let me figure out what's going wrong and get it fixed..

I understand. I am not as upset as I sound. I plan on taking a break for a while. Maybe retarting from a saved game corrupts something. I'll see if I can upload the saved game after the Second Rebellion for you guys to laugh at.

    Straticus: Buddy...I understand.....Just be cool...Stop cursing every one(along with the game)...especially the Mod...Just wait...right????
Please be patient for the modders to get the point and let 'em work on it....

    Or CHEAT...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just open Rome console(by pressing "tild" key, which looks like "~",just below "Esc" key...on the left side of "1/!" key)....press the "up-arrow" key and find the script "add_money" and add the amount you like...at least you'll have the money to Repair and Retrain your Cities and armies respectively....

Just a advice...No offense...To cheat or not is your own call....

And at the end of it all...Just Enjoy the MOD...!!!!

M/M - I know, I know..., not the recommended settings, but lets face it, if I were on any harder level with my inept playing ability, I would not have enjoyed it as much this far.

I'm not really cursing the modders or the game, just my damn luck for the most part..., and venting a little bit in frustration over the time invested to get to this point see it all get twisted.

I knew about the cheats, but I don't use them. I would actually prefer the game just worked properly.

This is probably one of the best mods I have seen in terms of art, skins, music, historical overlay and detailed descriptions. We are well aware of the the amount of sacrifice and work that went into producing it. They are working with an imperfect engine and a variety of versions (Rome/BI/Alex). I have nothing but admiration for the team and the results they have acheived.

I regret my comments have come across as more negative than observatory. That's on me. So my apologies to the team and players. I shall work on being more objective. Thanks for pointing that out and thanks for the help and the advice.

It probably needs this extra line to avoid the problem but this may cause other trait issues, by shifting other lines.

    Trigger Caesar_Rebellion1
    WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd
    Condition CultureType roman
    and FactionType romans_brutii
    and IsFactionLeader
and not Trait HouseCaesar = 1
and not Trait Dictator > 0
    and I_NumberOfSettlements romans_brutii >= 85
    Affects Caesar_Rebellion 1 Chance 25

The same thing happened to me.

I checked the traits of my faction leader and he has received the following traits:

    - Disinherited (this is really weird as I never disinhertied him)
    - Dictator for life

He does not have the Imperator Caesar trait.

That's because he's the original faction leader who was it before the rebellion. The son of that faction leader would be the one who would become the Imperator.

...and yes, my apologies as this is an error in my traits coding, I should have put a line in the trigger for the rebellion as above which would have stopped a third/fourth/fifth rebellion.

So, it sounds like if I send my national leader (with the Dictator trait) on a one-way voyage to the bottom of the sea, there is a good chance this will all finally end and I can restore the empire to it's former glory?

so if he kills his current leader next will become Imperator? would that solve Third rebbelion?
I would try that, to lose Faction leader in battle
