    Default Interesting Things

Just some interesting or unusual things going on in my Portugal campaign, SS 6.3, perm watchtowers, NHA, FTT, longer assimilation.

I'm about 85 turns in (1185), and not one faction has been destroyed yet, including the Crusader States. Only two Crusades have been called, both on excommunicated HRE's Frankfurt. No Vilnius, no Jerusalem (since CS still has it, I assume). Lots of excommunications of England, France, HRE.

I don't think there have been any jihads yet, either.

I'm not sure any of these things are shocking in and of themselves, but to have them all in the same campaign seems a bit unusual. What is everyone else's experience with all factions surviving, few crusades, few jihads, etc.?

Like you said, it all depends on the circumstance of your particular game. In my experience, the Pope is more likely to call Crusades on any excomm'd faction rather than Muslim lands. And the fact that no faction has entirely been destroyed isn't necessarily a bad thing. Just goes to show that the SS team made all factions balanced enough to survive longer than the first 15 turns

usually the Crusader states are destroyed first. then Scotland. then Aragon. and then maybe Norway.

and what is really surprising to me is that in most of my games, Lithuania becomes really powerful and takes most of Poland. I always considered Lithuania a weak faction. what are their good units, anyways?
