    Default Problem getting EB started

Hello all, I just got EB1.2, installed RTW fresh, patched up to 1.5, then installed EB1.1, then 1.2. Now the main problem is I just can't get the game going, when I launch I get stuck on the first screen.

Anyone care to help me out?

    thanks...

did you try enabling -show_err and noting down the error to help the devs?

EB does take a while to load, wait up to 15 minutes depending on your system, some users report loading-times up to 25 minutes as normal for their machines.
Acquiring more RAM (2GB is ideal for XP, 3 for Vista/Win7) speeds things up too.

If this doesn't help, see first the Frequently encountered issues, if your problem isn't mentioned or you can't get around it post here again!

I had this same problem. I waited for about 6 hours or so and the game was still on the starting screen. Any help? I have EB installed on RTW Alexander which I have through Steam.

Oh yes, I have 6 gigs of RAM so I doubt that is the problem.

I have no experience with ALEX,EB and Steam, so expect no help from my side on this topic.
You might need to copy the ALEX installation into the RTW folder, but honestly I don't know.
Much easier would be to stick with RTW:
    Installing with Steam
    Installing EB with steam

Another approach would be to disable movies by adding -nm to target line of your shortcut.

"-nm" is already part of my shortcut.

IIRC there was some weeks ago a discussion about ALEX on Steam and EB, try to search this forum on this topic.
