'Sequoiadendron Giganteum' so as it is my business to be reading about evergreens I stumbled upon the great redwood trees....

Apparently they are becoming popular with average home owners? I can't imagine if they things keep growing what do these people do? Move their drive way? cut a hole in the tree for a garage?? heh...

Needless to say I'm highly interested in flanking my yard with these giants.

But they wouldn't be giants for several generations. At least I think, I don't know how fast they grow.

In any case, I share your opinion. I admire those trees, they are stunning, not just for size, because of... well everything. I even wrote a poem about sequoia forest years ago.

Too bad I live in a flat. There is small park next to my building with young cypress trees which kids haven't yet torn out, it may even survive. It would be great if I could plant a sequoia in the middle. I can imagine the cityscape one day, bell towers, high rises and among them a giant tree.

But then I don't know if it would grow in our climate.

I've been looking at people's pictures of their trees. These things are pretty big, so far most are a few decades old and well under 100 feet high. But the thing is your grandchildren will have these trees and their grandchildren and their grandchildren's children lol...

Haha, I wanted to say I would like to have bonsai sequoia, but changed my mind because it sounded silly.
