Hi guys,
Yes I know its a lame question but I can't seem to find the answer...
Is it H/H?
Does Hard/ V Hard alter the states of enemy units in battle?
Thanks

Just play the game at H\H coz at VH\VH AI gets ridiculous advantages on campaign map and in battle maps like money bonus even if they are broke and like AI morale bonus.![]()
Lets face it as for battle dificullty all they get is a morale boost, meaning they will still fall the same way as in easy mode, u might take some more casualties, still the strategy doesn't change AT ALL, as for campaing dificulty, all the AI gets is economic boost, as in huge boost, but they act the same, most of the time...
i'd say m,v,vh/m, since it sounds more fair than the AI getting all the goods, imho, still up to you
if u really want difficulty, play with BYG on and cry as every time ur army exist ur borders is a risk of it rebelling XD
How can there possibly be a recommended difficulty setting? It depends on the skill of the user.
not sure for m2tw, but back in rtw when in H for battles the AI gets attack bonus; in VH it gets even bigger attack bonus.
H/H for me, along with savage Ai. I'v only really noticed a change in difficulty when i upped the campain difficulty. Its still easy to win battles agianst Ai, with harder difficulties, aslong as your not hoplessly out numbered.
VH/VH else it's just too easy.
i play the battle ai on vh. their morale is better, but more noticable is their cavalries attack bonus. ex: if i attack a line of shield i inflict intial damage but then take heavy losses but when ai cavalry attacks shield they will kill literaly kill half the wall in seconds. but i can still kick there ass. Look out for ai generals, especially king unit. sometimes they will have more kills then there whole army. lol.
for caimpagn ai, just medium, all it does is increase there money boost which is already ridiculus.
can't wait for LAST KINGDOM
I play on VH/H. I think I will switch to H/H though. The CPU is killing me in the tech department. I proudly set my spear militia and levy archers behind my wooden wall while the enemy was launching boulders at me with a catapult... I don't even have ballistas really.
It depends on so many factors. I'd recommend starting a campaign with a random faction that you may not care much about, with the sole intent of playing 20-30 turns to get a feel for the difficulty. Then start off with adjusted difficulty.
I played France as M/M, and it was ridiculously easy, and that's with quite a few difficult house rules.
Now I play H campaign, VH battles with difficult house rules on Savage and have a hard (but not impossible) time with Portugal and actually lost with Aragon. So that tells me I need H/VH and house rules if I use a difficult faction. On France I'd probably need VH/VH and Gracul's AI, maybe even BGR. With Crusader States, I'd probably do M campaign, Hard battles, Savage AI.
I think that overall AI (Savage, Lusted, Gracul's) is about 15% of it, battle difficulty is 25%, campaign difficulty is 10%, faction choice is 20% and house rules are 30%. I hope that added up to 100.
Anyway, I don't think there is any way to know for sure until you pick a faction and play a while. Then adjust. And you can always use harsh house rules to make up for picking a slightly too easy difficulty level or faction, or fewer house rules if you picked a too difficult one.
start slow...build up....as for the tech advantages...the computer researches/builds everything, so i feel the advantage of doing it faster fills in for me having a more streamlined approach (aka creating a horse citadel, or market city, or a blah blah) u get my point....so i do vh/vh....but then i don't use grucal ai...only savage...or byg, so im not crazy yet....lol
Your best Practice field is the custom battle if you wanna gain a upper hand in combat.
For stratmap read the various guides here and remember the game is about War and for that u need lots of money so concentrate on that. And the rest comes with experience and when u know how the AI behaves.![]()
I was wondering the same thing after just beginning to play 6.3, so thanks for the suggestions. I used to play 6.1 on H/H, but the wildcard now is the overall AI, so I'm trying my first game as Crusader States on Savage H/H... and to quote Han Solo, I have a very bad feeling about this.![]()
