Icon9 I NEED HELP with the SPQR MOD 7.0

Okay so i downloaded SPQR MOD 7.0, now i bought a new pc because my old one crashed on me, i had the MOD in the old pc and when i downloaded it and installed it, it installed automatically into the folder it was supposed to go into, so i didnt have to do anything, now in this pc i click extract and it wanted me to point it in the direction it suppose to go in. I looked in the forum on this site and found a picture that says your supposed to extract it to (F: Program Files/Activision/Rome-Total War) now i did that but nothing is replaced in that folder, i get a pop up saying errors and that none of the things can be created, and it stays like that till the very last file in the mod. I am using the same game as my old pc and it worked in that pc, now here its not working, i looked at topics on this forum to see if people are having the same problem and some are. I followed the instructions in the read me file. But what i hate i that it doesnt tell you where you have to put it, like (F: Program Files/Activision/Rome-Total War/...something..) you know? i uninstalled the game and installed it back in and re-downloaded the MOD. but its the same problem, i tried deleting the DATA file in the game and replacing it with the one the mod came with but still nothing. Can some one please help me?

Are you using vista, windows 7 or xp?

You need to direct the installer to the Rome Total war folder. I have an old version of rome so for me it is.

    (Hard Drive):Program Files/Activision/Rome-Total War

For people with a newer Rome copy it would be :

    (Hard Drive):Program Files/Creative Assembly/Rome-Total War

Default I NEED HELP with the SPQR MOD 7.0

I have Windows 7, and i have the old copy because when i go into program files it says Activision not Creative assembly, and i did direct the installer into the Rome total war folder, this is what happens, I extracted the Mod into (F: Program Files/Activison/Rome-Total War) and it starts to extract in their but i get two boxes, the one showing you what its extracting and how long it should take and one that says errors, and it just says that the things i am extracting in there can not be created. so i break the operation because nothing is extracting into the Rome total war folder, so i don't know what to do, I stopped playing Rome total war for a while because i got into call of duty, but when i saw this mod it got me back into it, please help

    Dear CRealism ,

The directory of the game is so portable ,it means that you can always remove the directory to any drive ,but still can play the game.
For my pc ,the default directory for Rome Total War game is D:\Program Files\Activision\Rome-Total War.And when i want install the mod ,i will create new folder of Rome Total War ,which will be as Copy of Rome-Total War .Just renamed it to Rome-Total War-SPQR and the directory will look like this D:\Program Files\Activision\Rome-Total War-SPQR . Just install the mod to this new directory and you will have no problem..If you have messed a directory ,you can just delete the created directory , and still have the default directory as a backup.Have a try.

Not sure if you sorted your problem. But i hope this helps you with installation. I am new to Rome total war well that's to say i finally got it out of the box again to try a few mods. and fixes to my computer to get these games working dedicated a new drive just for total war games. Enough said. this is what i did.
1 Install a fresh version of RTW gold edition, that's what i have it is all patched.
2 Play the prologue, then quit.
3 Get the latest version of SPQR 8 i think is the latest.
4 Now Make a copy of your entire Creative Assembly folder to a new location, i used documents. as i have other mods there to.
5 Open up Rome folder. first Delete the preference script in preferences folder leave everything else alone, and replace it with the new one from The SPQR 8, download, copy into the preference folder
6 next step worked for me. Over wright the data folder with the new one from your SPQR 8 download.
7 now at this stage everything else in your Rome folder will just look like a normal installation of Rome total war you should have RomeTW-BI and RomeTW launchers. The one you change is the RomeTW one. RENAME THIS TO Spqr.exe YOUR DONE
If you have done this it should work, it worked for me. I use windows 7 32bit i have had trouble in 64b with total war series.
Make sure you have your total war disc in your drive.
Don't worry if you stuff it up try again. And yes this game though i have not played it much yet looks and feels its very much worth the effort. First impressions best looking so far and a breeze to install. Cleanest so far for me.
Ah Don't forget to activate the script ????????? thingy you will find this on the forum.
    Hope this helps PS
Remember you will Launch SPQR from the location you did in your modification.
