    Default Medieval 2 Total war refuses to launch

    Ya so I bought this game from the Steam store and installed it and let it update, but unfortuntly when i press play, it says "Preparing to launch Medieval 2 total war" then that little box leaves and nothing happens, no other windows load, not even the hourglass beside the mouse appears. i have searched around goggle and cannot find anything that can help fix it, so I'm posting here for assistance

    help would be greatly aprpeciated

    1. Check your secutriy software to make sure permissions are given to Medieval2 and Steam.

    2. Delete the clientregistry.blob in the Steam folder and try it.

    deleting the clientregistry.blob did nothing

    okay here

    when i had empire :total war installed it worked fine, So I know my computer can handle it.

    Medievel2 and Empire = apples and oranges.

    1. Your AMD/ATI drivers are a year old and could use an updating.

    2. Need to run Microsoft Update and manually install all software options until it says "No more". Some drivers this game needs are over four years old and may have degraded over time.
