    Default Mass migration

If i play as papal states or CS usually ill find myself migrating to somewhere in nothern europe usually ireland if im CS or Holland if im Papal states. Also ive been seeing alot of people migrate to ireland regardless of faction, when your there do you ally with the locals and then attack france , or if not what else do you ?

I just attack Scotland first, sometimes try to ally with England for assistance, then attack England, and once i have control of the British Isles and have built up, attack France. That's just my strategy though.

Ive never atually understood how the whole migration process works. Do you go and take a couple of territories right at the start from across the map? Do you send a diplomat to a faction? Im just a bit confused on the actual specifics of it. I always kinda just stuck with where I was with any faction

Usually ill defend jerusalem for alsong as i can , while a diplomat is on his way to Ireland, when he gets there ask for an alliance which england , then give military access as a gift , then trade their military access, then either ill offer money for dublin or attempt to bribe the settlement, from there put all remaining outremer units on separate fleets , give all my settlements to Byzantines (If i still have them) and give Jerusalem to Papal states. Send all but one fleet to ireland to conquor galway , then send the remaining one to Rhodes or crete and establish a middle european foothold. Ireland is an amazing starting position , althought expect to go to war with spain

Playing as England I never had to leave Britain for any reason. Instead of destroying Ireland and Scotland I make them my vassals. Sometimes a marriage alliance if they have any good princess. I take Edinburgh from Scotland, leave Ireland as it is. 2 settlements for each, keeps them happy and prevents them maintaining a large military force. I just keep giving them small amounts of money by each 3 turn or so, to ensure their loyalty to my crown. I also take Northern France, Rennes, Caen and Bruges. Then Cyprus, Rhodes, Crete and Jerusalem. Hold these lands and try to survive.

But I suggest you to try to hold island settlements only. If I was as CS I'd definetely aim for that. Take italian islands, those that belongs to Sicily, besides Sicily itself. I think one of the settlement name was Cagliari. The one behind that I forgot, take both. Take Crete (Iraklion) Rhodes and Cyprus. You should have enough settlements to ensure both economic and military power. Try and hold these islands, away from the hypocrisy of the main continents. Templar knights were fled to safety of island castles once, so it's also historically makes sense heh..
