    Default V1-V3 The Inquisition

So I've recently found where the Inquisition faction is hiding and I saw these HUGE armies all around the Vatican and Castello del Inquisition!

So I was wondering has any players succeeded in taking either or both the Vatican and Castello del Inquisition?

    Just wondering.

The Inquistor is a nervous chap, as so he should be following the sacking of the Vatican by Greystoke, as in the Privateers Lore. Now he always ensures he is surronded by armies of fanatical members of the knightly orders.

I have seen it done by AI factions, Ive never done it myself ingame.

Now, I was under the impression that if one of the Inquisition's strongholds was taken, then the other couldn't be. is this no longer applicable?

That was a recommendation in V2 due to a problem with the papal election mechanics, it was fixed in V3 so feel free to strip that dog of all his lands...

(and since it is bound to get asked in this thread , the Inquistition will never be made into to a playable faction in any released version or approved sub mod. Purely because the game mechanics of MTWII cause too many anomolies to make it a correctly working faction)

I made the Inquisition playable myself and I saw no navy, so the Inquisition can not take settlements? They are just sitting ducks?

Ahh good fiction there. Did you write them yourself? I enjoyed the ones I've read so far.

That makes the AI controlled Inquisition not conquer too many settlements...

sounds like the start of a new Teutonic Order campaign. I've always liked the image of the TO as the rabid dog of christianity.

He is indeed a master wordsmith. However The Privateers was mine . Boris worked on a number of the stories and added true beauty to some of the factions stories, some of them didnt require his expert hand, most notably the Uruks, Privateers, Avalon and some others (IIRC).

I must admit, the Privateer and Demos ones are my favorites. Not to say that any of the others are bad, as they are all excellent stories. It's just that the Demos and Privateer ones really catch my attention. They both have truly unique backgrounds, both of which I genuinely enjoy

What about giving them the ability to hire ships, maybe toning down their economy a bit not to make them too OP?

Nope, they need large assistance to remain strong on their islands (since they are an obvious target due to a number of faction lores), becasue of this, the ability to leave their shores will destroy balance, so is not going to happen. The papal states mechanics (used by the Inquistion) are very different from 'normal' faction mechanics in MTWII, such as the automatic respawn of a faction leader. It simply makes it a nonsence to try and make them playable.

So I'm afraid as far as I am concerned this area of discussion is closed.

I agree the Demos one especially got me I mean it'd be very easy to make the Uruks the very paragons of evil, perhaps even the cause of the torment, and the Romuli into shining beacons of hope and purity (Saving the world from the uruks, etc) but makning the Uruks and Demotians wel maybe not good guys but at least a shade of grey takes a master storyteller to make it make sense

I must profess, I am very much in agreement in the Dominion's idea for a ruler. The ruler is supposed to be an example to his people, not just a big bully that does what he wants and gets away with it.

I always saw the Dominion as a wolf pack, where the Alpha is just the biggest and the strongest animal in the pack. whether he's rabid or stupid doesn't matter. and if he's rabid, Caesar will put him down.

Thank you, I felt it would of been too easy to paint them as the seed of evil. I was really happy that people took the sympathic story I gave them. Likewise with the Privateers, I didnt want it to be a comic book pirate faction. And whilst they have done dreadful things such as the sacking of the Vatican, I wanted to ensure that a credible motive was provided for their actions.

The Romuli, as I see them are the darkest self of the Roman Empire. Violent, greedy, ruthless, power-hungry, brutal....nowhere in their fluff does it say they are the good guys, and it shouldn't!
Onwards, Legions, for conquest and glory. We go to our bloody business!

I agree, it's almost like the lack of eagle-bearers is symbolic of the empire as a 'dark empire'. I mean, the Romans of real life didn't actually go razing entire cities like that (At least, not with the clinical coldness of the Romuli) but the atroceties they did commit show they were capable of such things. And in Thera, they are like all the worst parts of Rome in one faction and I LOVE it.
"Muwahahahahaha! Centurion, send in the Flamethrowers." (Julianus Caesar)
"But... they'll hit our troops!" (Centruion Torvus)
"Yes... and theirs, too! and they have more troops than us in that combat, didn't they teach you proabability at military school? Now SEND THEM IN! NOW!" (Julianus Caesar)
"Yes, caesar... Flamethrowers... open fire" (Centurion Torvus)

    ** Hi, Torvis
I have to disagree about the Romans not razing cities...Carthage, Corinth and Athens are prime examples of Roman city killing.
