Too complicated?

I recently donwloaded hoi3 and started to play. what happpened? thousands of territorys have been added, and the map looks horrible. I do not know what to even do with the technology tree, its gotten to complicated. it took me a while to play hoi2 because i am just use to playing more simple games, but hoi3 to me seem overly-complicated ot play.

i wouldn't say complicated but more like way too many provinces and bugs

I think they went to far with HOI3. More provinces does not equal a better game

Wow, personally I love all the provinces. Actually allows for real strategy to come into play rather then simply trying to over power your enemies armies like it is with all their other games. I thought adding all the provinces was the best thing they could do given how the war was pretty much based on strategic maneuvers and operations that are impossible to recreate on the HoI2 map.

Yeah that was one thing that always frustrated me in HoI2.

a new game based on hOI2 is coming out with alot more provinces. i cant remember its name. I cant link you cos paradox forums are down. i cannot help you.

The game is called Arsenal of Democracy.

IMO it's the unit hierarchy that bothers me in hoi3, sure it's realistic but it adds so much micro which just wasn't there with HOI2.

No i have that one. It has the same number of provinces, just the province limit for modders has been upped. I think its called Cross of Iron or something. Its on the paradox forums under WW2 games.

Anyway, On topic.
Ya, I tried playing HoI3 twice or maybe three times. I just couldn't over the complexity; although I let the A.I manage some of the things diplomacy and other parts, I can't handle the large amount of the provinces, especially the eastern front.

Though, after seeing some screenshots of it, I might give it another shot.

Is there any way to make HoI2 or AoD (I have both) faster? Any mods or programs that speed it up? I tried Speedhack with Cheatengine but it didn't work unfortunately. Does it matter if fog of war is on or off? Thanks in advance.
