There are quite a few in the Battle Planning part of the forum ....
I beat back their first attack with ease. Properly employed, E's can be very deadly, deadlier even than P's and Z's, though they're not as lethal as Paula Abdul or Right Said Fred.

Grouping units is a good way to maintain a formation between enemy waves when reinforcements come after the first army. Flanking, exhaustion, cav and use of terrain are the keys to winning battles against the odds. What else would you like to know?

Grouping stuff is a good tip

A well grouped phalanx/archer combo is usually a winner in field battles.

'Might is also Right' as they say. Present your ai foe with an overwhelming force massively outnumbering them and they usually lose their bottle and rout off with barely an arrow fired.

Is there any way that when I order them to move somewhere, they don`t make rotation just translation if you understand me what I want to say.

    1. hold formation while marching:

If you have set up your battle formation, and don't want it to be ruined during march:
    - select (highlight) all units
    - hold ALT while right clicking on the destination

They will move as a unit, and keep distances between themselves _upon arrival_. During the march phase, it will be scr.wed up (because of different walking speed of cavalry/light inf/phalanx), but they will organize into the original formation when they arrive.

You can also press space to see where they will end up.

    2. rotate formation:
This is useful when you have a nice battle formation, and the AI does not attack from the front, but from the side. So the easiest way to rotate the whole army.
    - select every unit
    - hold down < > to rotate
This button varies from keyboard layout to keyboard layout, look for it in options. On my (hungarian) keyboard the buttons are right next to right shift.

    3. making a line without "spaces"
You know, if you deploy units, and right click+drag them, there will be a small space between 2 units.
This is not wanted with phalanxes, as a few legionaires for example can use this space to attack your men from the side.

There is an easy way to make continous lines, without spaces.

    - select the units you want in a continous line
    - hold right mouse button, and drag them where you want them
    - make sure they are not in special formation (testudo, phalanx)
    - press the button left of backspace (' ó ' for me)
    - press the button once and you will see that the unit's side, which make up your line are closer to each other. Usually press the button 2-3 times to see a continous line without 'corridors'
    - after you have your line, you can enable special formation (phalanx!) again

This is good, since legions will not be able to penetrate into the corridors of your phalanx, and are easily destroyed.

Hold right click and drag it. While holding the right button down, you can pan the formations in that mode

Crtl + I = Selects all infantry units
Crtl + C = Selects all cavalry units
Crtl + M = Selects all missile units
these 3 shortcuts are very handy and always can help me out when I need cavalery or need to order all missile units to aim on one target, or to retreat all infantry units.

I checked where you can set this rotate and unit width button.

I translated it back from hungarian, so it will differ a bit for you:

main menu -> settings -> control setup -> battle menu

here you can set the buttons:
    - decrease unit width
    - increase unit width
    - rotate clockwise
    - rotate counterclockwise
