Icon5 How to set my own research time for technologies?

    Hello everyone,

I would like to know how to change the default vanilla research time of technology?

I would like to set my own research time for some technologies.

As many of you know, not all technologies in ETW need the same research time....

I' m thinking that some technologies have too long research times - easy technologies i.e - and i would like to fix it as fast as possible.

Which editor i need to use : Pack File Manager or ESF Editor?

Which file i need to open and edit?

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the link and the quick answer, but unfortunately i already know this thread....

I found the proper table, but i didn't found the column or string that it is responsible for the default vanilla research time.

Yes, i could change the place of technologies - i.e one of the top place at the end etc...

I could change required buildings and the effects of the technology when researched.

But still i' m unable to localize the research times - numbers of turns to develop.
    It must be held somewhere!!

    Maybe in startpos.esf?

Or maybe the research points needed to research is the numbers of turns... but what value is one turn??

If you know please tell me which file i need to find and edit.

    Thanks in advance!!

In Research Points column there are the needed points for a research to be completed. This number divided by the current research points of a faction -which varies and depends on the number of current education buildings, scholars, etc., that this faction has in every turn- gives you the number of turns that research time will last. There is not a certain number you can place to determine the exact turns. The smaller Research Points number is in the sooner research will be completed.

    Thanks for the info!!

So, where i could find the current research points of an faction?

I give an example : I'm playing United Provinces in Short Grand Campaign.

How many research points they have at the start ( one scholar +2 turn faster research )?

Where i could find the faction actually number of total research points available at the moment?

Now i understand, that investing time and money on those buildings (plus having scholars in research buildings) will decrease the time to a technology to be research.
Yes, i saw that every technology in ETW has it own, required research points to be achieved to research this technology.

    Thanks in advance!!

You can see the effects tables but these are changing during game play so here is no point there. Just go in technology table and reduce Research Points.

Nevermind husserlTW i figured it out thanks to your help!

Every research points in technologies tables are related to the default numbers of turns ( without adding scholar, etc).

That was a simply mathematics. I give an example:

United Provinces (first turn, one scholar, one school, short campaign) - flintlock cannon 60 research points (default) means about 5 turns. I made 48 r.p - now 4 turns to research, etc.

Thanks for patience and help!! I appreciate your time that you have spent on this topic, thanks you very much!
