Singleplayer: Select Hotseat > Choose multiple factions > Have even more fun by playing as several Factions!

And play as the second person

Just simply play the hotseat as you would a singleplayer campaign only with multiple players. If you're all on the same computer I recommend just auto-resolving all battles, since watching each other fight against the AI can get boring real quick. There is unfortunately no way for two people to actually play out a battle against each other and whenever the AI attacks you it will be auto-resolved whether you like it or not.

With that in mind, I've found playing out hotseats with an alliance between the human controlled players to be the most enjoyable.

So do I have to shut down the game after a turn or whatever? Or just exit and then say my brother can get on and load up the same thing and do his turn? I apologize if this is confuseing or irritateing, I just wanna know how to do this

You need to save after you end your turn and then your brother can load it again.
