China Confirms two Nuclear Reactors for Pakistan

In an excellent move to help us defend again Hindu-dominated and Pakistan Hating Inida, China is giving the Pakistani government and army two nuclear reactors in Chashma, Punjab. I for one is think this is a great deal. One we get rid of the massive power infrastructure problems of relying on an old grid system and thus power failures are going to be a thing of the past and it agian cements our alliance with China, due to the recent US-India Nuclear deal. May both Pakistan and China benefit from this deal, inshallah.

well this is great news for the residents of Pakistan in that they'll have a large and steady flow of electrons, but could related material ever find its way into the hands of Al-Qaeda or other groups?

The reactors will provide much needed energy to free up government spending on trying to import it. This surplus could then be used to rebuild devastated areas. But it will probably be spent on another house for Zardari or F-16s Block 52s from General Dynamics.

Also, if its the right kind of reactor, Pakistan can accelerate the production of nuclear warheads. Its a win win situation.

The only thing i'm wondering with regards to this thread is how 12 years equates to "decades"....or a "very long time".

Either way...who cares...the Pakistanis could've have made the reactors themselves with enough effort.

Well, 12 years is half my life so I do consider it a long time.

Pakistan's had the development program going on since the late 70's though (Civil program since the 50's). They've been in the mix for a while and supposedly had a working warhead a bit before the '98 test, just took them a couple of decades to officially test one.
