    Default Permanent projectiles minimod for TATW 3.2 with better torch lightning. Compatible with BS mod compilation and MOS 1.12:)

    PERMANENT PROJECTILES MINIMOD (I KNOW U WANTED ;p)

    COMPATIBILITY
    1) Vanilla TATW 3.2
    2) BS mod compilation
    3) MOS 1.12
    Download: see attachements!

    Features:
    What does this mod do? as its name says, it gives you permanent projectiles on the battlefield (see the screens). Yeap ! all projectiles, including ballistas and javelins. They will stick to any surface, even stone walls, it may look stupid but its fun . If it bothers you, make appriopriate changes in descr_effect_impacts.txt. Flaming projectiles will burn after some time and disappear.

    Additionaly I included improved torch lightning (more effect during the night) and extended longevity of burning bodies.



    This mod already includes Crossbow bolt fix and Axe throwers fix, both by Griffin795.

    Word of warning !
    This mod may kill your CPU ! install it on your own risk .

    Compatibility and requirements

    U can install everything that doesn't change
    Code:
    -descr_projectile.txt
    -descr_flaming_projectiles.txt
    -descr_effect_impacts.txt
    -descr_burning_men_effect.txt
    This mod should be save game compatible.

    Installation
    1) back up following FILES in \Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age\data :
    -descr_projectile.txt
    -descr_flaming_projectiles.txt
    -descr_effect_impacts.txt

    2) back up following FOLDERS in \Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age\data
    -models_effects

    3) unpack mod\data archive into \Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age\data
    click yes when asked to overwrite

    4) play and feast your eyes


    Unstallation

    1) Delete files
    -descr_projectile.txt
    -descr_flaming_projectiles.txt
    -descr_effect_impacts.txt
    -descr_burning_men_effect.txt

    2) Delete folders
    -models_effects


    3) restore previously saved copies of original files !


    Criditz:
    To say that i did completly on my own would be a lie. So some clarification first.
    I found similar mod on the interwebs, i was searching for particular files and BLAM here it is. So i used files I found as an example and made proper adjustments in TATW files . It's quite possible that simillar mod is here on TW:C, so if the author of all CAS files is reading this, please drop by so i can credit you properly.

    Seconds, Crossbow bolt fix and Axe throwers fix, both tracked, hunted down and devised by Griffin795. thank you for your time

    No permissions required, use this mod as you see fit. Small credit at the end of the payroll would be nice

    One bug i've found is that my bolts and steel bolts don't appear on the ground?

    thats odd, everything worked fine, let me look through this.

    Edit: Found the cause, i messed effect bolt_impact and effect_set bolt_impact order updated first post, it should be working now.


    by the way, can anyone prepare adequate axe_projectile_ground_impact.cas file? See pic in attachement, those black things are throwing axes permanent on the ground. I don't have any means to do such thing

    Does this require AUM 2.1, and wot files does it tie in with that Sub-mod, I'd really like to use this with FROME.

    Baron Samedi mod compilation
    -install mod compilation, install bug fixer, install permanent projectile minimod, no other downloads required

    Regular TATW
    -install TATW, install 2.1 patch, install AUM 2.1, install projectile mod, no other download required.


    In generall: EDU file is included because of axe projectile fix. Edit EDU file from projectile minimod, find AXETHROWERS and MERC AXETHROWERS entries, copy them and paste into EDU file of your desire and your done. No need to replace EDU files with those provided here.

    Descr_projectile file included because of bolt fixes, permanent axes effect and description of effect impacts all projectiles should use.

    Descr_flaming_projectiles.txt
    Descr_event_effects.txt
    Descr_artillery_effects.txt

    just FX for projectiles, those can be skipped safely, no harm should be done.

    Descr_effect_impacts.txt works with Descr_projectile, u can fool around with play_time and fade_time entries to lenghten or shorten play time effects.

    I really dislike how this mod is only available with AUM and Baron Samedis compiliation. You should really consider making this compatible with vanilla TATW and RR/RC for 2.1 when thats released.

    AUM mod give u plenthora of new units, not using them is HERESY !!!

    hmm for me the mod thing will not work :/ I enter the game and when reading the menu, the game returns to Windows What could be the reason?

    Geez, it's not that dificult.
    Run the game with mod, wait till crash, go to Medieval II Total War\logs folder and copy content of system.log.txt here. (goddamit, why u people are not curious what's in the files and folders??)

    Which version of my mod did u use? if u're playing Clean TATW 2.1 u should download Vanilla_perm_arrows version.
