Norway/Denmark

K...to all of you who have used these extensively, out of the two of them which faction would you choose?
What are the differences?

As far as I can tell Norway has a smaller roster.

2: They have the better roster, especially late game.

Danemark, hands down.

Better units, even if the colors are not as cool.

Having the Chivalric Knights is a huge advantage to Danemark, as well as better late units. Noble Hirdsmen are good, but useless vs a cavalry charge, when compared to Obudshaer.

If you are talking about the Chivalric knights then I agree. Then they start playing like any other faction. I probably won't use them...

No... my points were (as in the post I wrote above) the idea to rename the faction "Danemark" which makes no sense, and the re-skinning to make them look yellow/blue instead of the original red/white..

The Viking age are over by the start of the game, and Denmark was the first of the Scandinavian nations to embrace cavalry. Cavalry might have been hard to use in Norway and Sweden, due to their mountains and deep forests, but Denmark aren't very forested, and the highest point is just a bit over 100 meters above sealevel.

Its kinda sad that they didn't use the Danish flag or the colors (red/white). When the flag itself is more than 1000 years old and are todays oldest flag.

Agreed! Why the gave them colours most associated with Sweden I doubt we will ever know. It is important to look good while beating somebody's brains in and that is hard to do while wearing yellow.
It shows the bloodstains more too, think of the women, that's a shedload more washing to do.

Definitely Denmark. Better roster, and a pretty rad starting position that immediately confronts the might of the HRE, and has potenital to control the entire Baltic / North Sea trade.

Because there was no Sweden. Atleast not for the Early Campaign.

i am actually surprised everyone has agreed on Denmark straight off lol, i prefer norway in first 100 years or so but then later in game denmark do really surpass them. agreed on the colours i quite like the vanilla colours for denmark.

Always prefer Norway.
Better colour, position. And i much prefer the Norwegians flavour-wise (history). If the Danish coulours would be fixed, i might play them.

5 turns, including turn 1. Defeated them on turn 5.
Ofc, it helps that in 2TP Norway starts with Oslo, so one can field another small army from there

Denmark over Norway any day, They show their Norse side with a taste to adapt. Also historically Denmark really did control Scandinavia. I wish they could keep the banners but go back to Danish Red on White, Blood on Snow and everything.
