Default I've reached a point in my game where I really need help

Hi, I reached a point in my game where I think the enemy really has me. The green romans have gone more or less unchecked, and now they have 12 stacks or so, which is far superior to my 7 stacks spread out across the entire map. Let's not mention the stacks in Spain and Britannia are horribly obsoletely, and one of the stacks near Scythia is more or less obsolete too (I can still use it, but I cannot replenish supplies because of the reforms).

Essentially, a whole bunch of challenges are coming crashing down on me now.

    1) I can't replenish troops when I conquer a city, so I am basically stuck with the army I made for myself. I am winning battles 5-to-1 or better, and even still, the loses add up. One stack can really only be so effective for only so long.

    2) The green roman player is in my face, and he has endless stacks of armies. It's insane. He was planning a mass take over from virtually all sides now.

    3) It takes me 6 turns to make a new stack near my capital (the most useful place for it), which is just not fast enough. My funds can't really support creating 2 stacks at the same time, even though I have 40 cities.

There's one location that is really very, very bad:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

I am pretty much screwed, no? Both those stacks are the only thing that's available. Believe it or not, there actually was 1 other FULL green stack in addition to those, but the bottom stack of mine already took it. The top stack still has to move this turn. Reinforcements are not going to happen.

And oh, you see that green town? That used to be mine.

I have one more stack in Rome, and I plan on taking out the cities there after having moped up a bunch of blue roman units in my provinces. That part should be easy.

    Help?

You're not screwed at all. Take out their Italian settlements, then concentrate on Greece, and move up from there. Exterminate all populations. You look like you're about to win.

    Is Carthage still alive?

Draw those armies away from each other and then surround them and destroy them one by one. And most definitely try to get them to attack you in a bridge or river battle.

Yeah, it would appear fleeing from battle when it's 2 on 1 is the only option. I got it down to 2 green armies and 1 half army garrisoned in that town segestica.

It is amazing how quickly the computer builds stuff. I dunno if they've been amassing all of this crap the entire game, but it's the first I ever saw of it. It's a real challenge to say the least. I finally got my 3rd stack mostly built on the west side where the screen shot takes place. A few more turns and I can deploy it. Then I just push down and take them out. On the east, they were weaker, so my 2 outdated armies are fairing well against them. I finally managed to take out one of their towns and I'm heading for another. They are all ungarrisoned, so hopefully they'll be easy pickings.

The east is still bad though. There's another 3-4 full stacks coming from the south

    You are about to win.
I didn't count, but you should have more then 30 regions of 45 needed.

    - create a new army in Spain, and conquer North Africa. If you take the coast and Carthage/Thapsus, it is an additional 5 (rich) regions.
    - create a new army in Italy, and conquer the Scipii/Brutii cities in Italy and Sicily. (5-6 regions)

    - also land around Corinth and Athens and take the rear areas of the Brutii.

Looks like you've won the game to me. You have already conquered Rome by the looks of it. 4 AI stacks vs 2 human stacks should mean that you should easily win out. One stack should beat all four stacks and the second should wander off and conquer somewhere else. Forget the Scythian cities and move down to the Brutii and Scipii areas. I suggest Italy and Balkans and Sicily and Greek lands first. The stacks in Spain and Britannia should all either be sent off to conquer new cities or slowly disbanded and build peasants as it looks like they aren't close to any enemy factions. There is no point in losing money in upkeep, if the armies aren't being used.

Why would it take 6 turns for a new stack? You have 6 cities in Italy, which at that stage in the game should be churning out Legionary Cohorts and Cavalry every turn.
Smilies...the resort of those with a vacuous argument

Yay, I eventually went on to win! The Brutii were really difficult. I managed to drive them back and took many of their east and north towns from all sides, especially the east where my capital was sending stack after stack. I beat it by 210bc. I dunno if this is good or not.

I also took all of common day Italy, and sent a ship to get the 3 scipii towns on that island south of Italy.

The brutii AI just gave up. It stopped attacking, even though it had a lot of stacks. I just kept trying to win all the battles 10-to-1. It was still hard though because if I took many loses in a given fight, I just redid it to see what might work better.

And yeah, it takes about 5-6 turns because not all of the cities had the ability to make the kind of cav I wanted, or onagers. Also, I was making mostly legionary cohorts, but I had a few urban's thrown in. Nonetheless, that's what I did - I had every city there just churning out units every turn until my income/expenses was maxed out.

Cool, Carthage is still alive which means you don't have to deal with my problems:
Facing the endless invasion of the Brutii AND facing the invasions of the Scipii, as the Scipii in your campaign is quite busy.

Sollution: Destroy their economy! Without an economy, no troops. Without troops, no power! Without power, more lands to conquer! With more lands to conquer, you rule the world!

1- Blockade ALL Brutii ports. Their economy relies on sea-trade so this will be a HUGE boost for your armies.
2- Take out the Italian settlements to conquer the whole of Italy, this will give YOU a boost as the Brutii can't attack you from 2 sides, but you can attack them from 3 sides (Salona, Apollonia and Sparta.)
3- When conquered Italy make sure you begin to conquer Sparta and maybe Apollonia or Thermon to distract the Brutii's armies. Conquering Sparta is the beginning of your conquest in Greece and will put the Brutii soon enough on their knees when their economy is broken.
4- Make an alliance with Pontus, they can help you as the Brutii are being attacked from 3 sides.
5- You posess the Northern lands (above the Brutii). Make use of it! Spread out the Brutii army by attacking Tylis, Byzantium etc. then the Brutii is attacked from ALL sides!
6- Realy desperate? Search for a city which has the plague, create spies in that city and send them to the Brutii cities to infect their cities. The Brutii cities are all Greek, and there has been a plague in Macedonia which reduced the population dramaticly, more population loss can be fatal for them. Reminder: when YOU conquer those cities, the population will still be very low. Extra reminder: When the Greek cities are not growing but overcrowded cities do, send peasants from the overcrowded cities to the slow-growing greek cities.

6 points which can help you conquer the Brutii
And by the way, you weren't quite prepared for the civil war were you? else you would have created more armies, sent more spies, assassins and put more armies near their cities

    Good luck
