Faction On Deadline

In my current Campaign I'm doing a RP, focus on Diplomacy, Trade, Alliances and Marriages and a little Crusade. Just taking the places I want nothing more nothing less. Trying to survive as a stable Kingdom rather than aggressively expanding into an Empire.

Playing as England, I had many battles with France, I took Northern France shores only (Rennes, Caen, Bruges) most of our battles were on fields (I attacked armies of France nearby my borders etc.) then they began to fall in a losing war with HRE which was at the time ws my Ally. Their military power began to collapse, they offered me a truce and I didn't want them to perish, I accecpted. This also triggered a truce between them and HRE. For quite some time it was allright, France was gaining strentgh and I was preparing for more battle with them, suddenly though King of France dies, and Kingdom falls into Rebel hands. Faction destroyed. And they even have more settlements than I do. In my guess, King lost all of his heirs, couldn't produce anymore and this became the end of their dynasty ? I checked the map, there are many French Generals, but no family member (as far as I can tell). For some another reason after a few turns I had to reload my game and it was before French was destroyed, but this time King of France didn't die, somehow at his 70+ the guy still lives, pretty neat for medieval standarts. Anyway is there are a way to prevent their destruction again ? I have two Princess of age, capable of producing healthy heirs but if I marry one of them with one of their General their child won't be in the French family tree right ? Cause it has to be a Family Member. Any ideas ?

He's probably too old to get children.
The only way for the dynasty to survive would be him adopting a general.

I don't think he's that smart otherwise things wouldn't come to this in the first place.

Try killing as many of his generals as possible, that should increase the odds of him adopting, as the general to settlement ratio will drop.

Now that's something I can happily (and successfully) do!
As I have Master of Assassins and Master of Espionage traits earned by my incredibly talented Agents.

Let's just hope it would work, cause If France falls surrounding factions will undoubtedly march into their territories and claim for themselves and all the balance I tried to maintain so far will be for nothing.

I did as you told, assasinated around 4 French General and about 2 turns later a french Family Member emerged, and the following turn he was titles as Prince. So your advice worked beautifully, thanks a lot Meneth. I'll give you rep as soon as I'm allowed to.
