Patching the launcher

I'm going to patch the launcher, but I'll need a list of the issues first. Also, I'll try to make it work with Steam, but for this I really need people with to test things. apple, if you are here, you're my best bet, but if there are people with some knowledge of Steam and RTW (nothing fancy, just more or less understanding how it works), they are welcome too.

Known issues :
-Invisible text on buttons : thanks to HoH for the solution to this one.
-Steam :
-???




Now, for Steam, if you are interested, please download this.
Run it, and report back the errors with detailed informations : Path of Steam, version used (RTW/BI or Alex), ...

It's the election day today so I won't be that active in the forum, but I'm sure that I'm able to spend an hour or two on this.

For some reason MP doesnt work if using it straight from the launcher..
If you could look into this? The correct EDU wasnt being used.

Multiplayer swapping of files works fine for me so may be a question of file permission or something.

Ok I tested it now and it doesn't seems to work that good right now.
Firstly, it don't seems to start in any of the mod-folders. I only get the Historical Battles and Custom Battles option in the single player menu for both Play_Carthage and Play_Rome (haven't tested the other ones)
Also it asks for Alex exe when choosing the BI one in the launcher exe droop down menu.

@hh let me guess, you put it in the program files? Permission issues are indeed the most likely.

Nope. And it just crashed when using Alex.

Is there an error message when you try to start the mod with Steam?

Dont you think that its a necessary idea to include a little map in the launcher to see what are factions ? Some French players say on the french topic on hardware.fr about this mod, that they dont know with the launcher what is this faction or this faction.

It is possible, I tried it once before. The problem is where to put it.
If you can manage to show me a presentation that is nice, I'll try to do it.

AARRGGG my god, yes i can but... arrggg i have delete all files about them... Why delete ? because i do it for guys when we tested the beta... I dont find the topic / post where they are ! Apple do you know where are theses files ? i donw know if i upload them on imagehack or with the filehost system of this forum...

For the explanation, when you click on faction on left, the map in a small location placed above the image of soldiers. I put a scroll and I do not know where with a brief description of the faction selected...

if I remember correctly, I Blew Up the launcher, added the space between the image of soldiers and the menu. There, I placed a rectangular map with the selected faction in red on the map. All buttons, I made a photo montage to make a mini parchment instead of ordinary white squares. It was prettier.
