Cannot launch RTW on Vista
I 've just bought RTW Gold Edition. The installation was flawlessly completed, but when I tried to launch the program, I got the message "Program stopped working. Windows will try to find a solution blah, blah". I reinstalled it in XP compatibility mode, but the result was the same.
I would appreciate any help.
My laptop specs:
Vista
AMD Turion 2GHz
ATI Radeon HD 2400XT
2GB DDR2

Re: Cannot launch RTW on Vista
First of all welcome to the forum.
Don't install games to the default folder (c:\program files (x86)) as that folder is 'protected' by Windows. Create your own game folder and install there e.g. c:\games.
Also make sure that you turn off UAC (User Account Control) before you install.

First of all, thank you for your quick response.
I followed your advice, however the problem has not been resolved. Any further ideas?

Check your secutrity software that it's not blocking it. That includes Windows ES, Defender or whatelse they call it.

Re: Cannot launch RTW on Vista
I disabled Defender, checked firewall, nothing changed.
It seems that I have tried everything, but I don't want to surrender that soon!

Re: Cannot launch RTW on Vista
Short of starting from scratch, and doing preliminary work before trying to install the game, I am out of ideas.
