Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums. I'm giving a lecture on the fall of Rome in a few days, and I thought the class would enjoy seeing a reenactment of Pharsalus. My computer that has Rome installed is currently having some internet problems, so I was wondering if there was a couple of people who wouldn't mind recreating the battle in "vs. match," so to speak?
Here's how I'd like the battle to play out.
1. Terrain with a river on the left of the screen.
2. Two Roman factions with post-Marian troops except where specified. Both laid out with the typical three lines.
3. Pompeian side is larger, especially in cavalry (probably want to use "Equites," which i will explain further down).
4. Show Caesar shortening his third line to create a forth line of spearmen. Use Auxilia for this.
5. Caesar's infantry advances halfway down the field and stops. Both sides exchange pila volleys. Then they engage.
6. Pompey's cavalry charges Caesar's flank, Caesar's cavalry retreats, drawing Pompey's cavalry into Caesar's fourth line of reserve spearmen.
7. Pompey's cavalry retreats, Caesar's spearmen follow and hit Pompey's exposed flank.
8. Pompey's army routes.
You probably want to make Caesar's army stronger, with better armor and experience, so that they can stand up to the superior numbers.
Can anyone pull this off and make video for me?
Thanks!
