    Default Gaining experience mechanism

Could someone explain mechanism of gaining experience by units during a battle?
I don't understand it at all. Why some units gaining experience quicker than others?
Which situation is better for gain experience: fight with strong unit against another strong unit, or fight weak unit against strong.
For example: 1 level Harafisha Volunteers quanity: 78 against Amahara Infantry level 5 quanity 112 I won battle but my Valunteers didn't gain any experience.

I'm not usre but i guess the cavalary gains more than other units my Agulani units always gained 1 or 2 expirience rest 0 or some 1 i guess it depends on how much your unit kills other enemy.

as I notice, the smaller your units is, the more chance they get exp, I usually take my generals behind the enemy line and charge, or straight charge at a militia unit, and I immidietly get about 1-2 bronze after the first battle, I got to gold in the next 8-9 battles.

I think "which units killing which units" does not affect your exp gaining, but rather how many men your unit can kill, while perseving it's own men, because I have seen my units loose exp in battle when they're getting massacred.

so my hypothesis is that: to gain exp, your unit have to kill an amount of men that is equal to/more than that unit's number, without too much casualty. That is why cavalry, generals and missle units get exp easier than infantry, because cavalry usually kill the most men, and if your good - they don't loose too much casualty. Missle units also kill a good amount of men, and they're less likely to engage in close combat.
