ive played several campaigns but have never gotten offers from them to build a guildhall. Does having a templar guild hall automatically disquilfy you from getting them or have they been disabled or something

Yeah it disqualifies Hospitallers to build a Templar one... A bit strange really...
Hmm, I think just in the one settlement right? Or is it across the entire faction?
If that is the case, then the only way to have both is to capture a settlement w/ a Hospitaller guild...unless the game destroys it when you capture it?
UGH, all the things I don't know! haha
TQ
Applies to the entire faction. But this can probably be changed in export_descr_guilds![]()
well that explains why ive never seen one. templar guilds are usually the first guild your offered when you upgrade to a city
DLV gives them away very easily for some reason, possibly because historically they were around already at game start. Just need a moderately high chiv governor.
And I failed to answer TaronQuinn's question previously: Yes, you'd have to capture an enemy settlement that had the opposite guild.
Capturing may be gold for you -- Since by doing so you play the lottory in hope that your general (or warrior governor) win the "Grandmaster of the Hospitaller" -Anchilliary. Movement, trade, moral, command, etc. You won't be able to recruit Knights or Holy secuphre Guards if you already have a Templar building, but the just having the guild and reciving the extra retinue is more then a good reason to keep it.
Good hunting in trying to find one, I assume A.I play by the same rules, and as such a good spy or two could make your search quick as lightning. KoJ may also start with both buildings, tho don't quote on me it until it's empirically noted, just a rumor until then.

Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga- The pranks played on the knight Jean de Joinville, 1249, 7th crusade.I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

my genrals have gotten the trait grand master of the hospitallers before though i know for sure i have never captured a hospitaller guild hall. I usually check before i take a settlement to see what guild is built there.
