So all ok I thought I'd install my copy of 'Medieval Total War II' the Gold Edition, all ok until about a third of the way through installation then I get this message.

    'Feature transfer error'

    Component:English Game
    File:E:\M2TW\Disk\data2.cab
    Error Data Error(cyclic redundancy check)

I can't install game as it aborts after this message, can anybody help me please,as I'm stuck what to do.
This game has been installed without a problem before, any help would be really appreciated, thanks.

A CRC error usually means that the optical drive isn't able to read the disc. Check the disc for scratches or dirt/grime/fingerprints etc. If the disc is just dirty then you can clean it and run the install again. If the disc is scratched then you may have a problem depending on how badly the disc is scratched. Let us know. Good luck!

I had the same problem, sometimes it has to do with a corrupt file, (Sometimes the data file is corrupt in the CD) This can be fixed, as i did to mine.
    1) Download a demo version of the game
    2) Install the demo version (Make sure it is a safe website)
    3) Then, install the CD after the demo is installed (Install CD to the same directory path as the demo)
*I had to repeat it twice, but it worked for me.
