    Default Call of Warhammer Overview?

    Hello,

    I've just come across this mod. I note there is a version 1.4 in the works. I also saw there is/are preview explaing some units will fly back when hit etc. but I didn't come across an actual overview of the mod itself: faction list, map, other basic details about the mod. Could someone point this out to me?

    Map- The map will be the same as version 1.3 with more or the same amount of regions

    Factions- Same as version 1.3, but with the addition of the Border Princes, a "buffer-zone" race between the Empire and the Orcs.

    All of the factions will recieve new units and all will be updated. Traits and anicillaries are also going to be completely redone. Most of the older units are also being redone. It will also use XAI 4.1 I believe and thus, making the AI more challenging than ever before. Version 1.4 will be a great rework of the mod. It has enough content in it to rival that of their first release!

    Thank you for the reply. I haven't played the mod. I do not know version 1.3. I don't know the map or factions from version 1.3. Is there a basic explanation for the mod?

    WELL if you really want to know...

    The mod is based on the warhammer universe, and is centred around an event called the 'storm of chaos'.

    The factions are divided between the good and the evil. Good = the Dwarfs, High Elves, Kisliv, and the Empire. Evil = Night Goblins, the Orc's, the vampire counts, the dark elves, and the forces of chaos.

    The empire, because of its size is divided into numerous factions, all very similar, but each is unique, having special faction specific units etc, all the empire factions are allied, but their technically independant of each other. When playing as an empire faction you NEED to help your allied states, because if they die, you'll soon be next.

    Their are 4 Chaos factions, one for each one of the chaos gods, like the empire factions, they have similar units, with a few unique units for each faction. Unlike the empire, their at war with each other, but they can be united into one faction, if playing as a chaos faction that can be done by conquering them all, if your not playing as them, then it will happen as a scirpted event.

    The storm of chos occurs when, after a certain amount of turns, the chaos factions unite under a bad ass champion, who's main goal is the destruction of the empire and its people. after the storm of chaus, the player will be forced to fend off massive orc invasions etc. The mod is VERY challenging, and at times you'll be struggling to stay alive

    how's that for a summery?

    Thank you for the reply. It's odd this mod doesn't have something along these lines noted. I think it would help those not disciples of the Warhammer Universe.

    There are 15 Factions (including various Chaos and Empire Factions)?

    No, they aren't. They are fine gentleman who just kill everything they can get in front of their choppaz

    Of course they are evil. They are the bad barbarians, which just kill to have fun. They even fight amonst therselve all the time. And not for a good ambition. Their victims most of the time did none to provoke that. And they also kill the weak one (and sometime not fast).

    there is no black and white in the warhammer world in my opinion, just really dark shades of grey. The elves use humans(specifically high elves and wood elves) as a buffer against there enemies. the empire will kill just as many innocent people as corrupt in their attempt to keep the influence of chaos from them. Orcs are savage warriors who live for war, there society is war, and concepts like good and evil mean nothing to them. Ogres will fight for anyone if you can feed them. bretonnians are a nation of noble knights who treat their peasantry like nothing, sometimes peasants are killed for looking at a knight's steed. norscans are viscious raiders who plunder for land and riches, some worship chaos gods some dont. The warriors of chaos are those who seek immortality and live to show their might to their gods, not necessarily evil in any case. the most evil like faction is probably the dark elves, as the enjoy the cruel acts they inflict more than orcs or chaos worshippers. there are similar dark qualities to every other nation in the warhammer universe, even halflings. there is no good, there is no evil. there is only warhammer.

    well fair enough, there are many many shades of gray, although to be fair, the empire,kisliv,bretonia etc are inherantly good,rather then evil. and there is no possible way that orc's, goblins, dark elves, or chaos could ever be described as good, even if their not to be considered as completly totally 'evil' they are still very very nasty, complete BASTARDS!

    I think the difference is: Empire, Dwarfs, High Elves, Kislev etc. ... they have some guys, which are good. They care for others, also if they are not from their race. They also would live in peace, if they could.

    But finding one like this at the bad guys... no chance.

    Thank your for this reply. Very interesting. If one wants to download the mod, the protocol is the mod download itself and then a translation mod? Is this correct, as the mod is/was a Russian project? Have I understood correctly?

    Chaos: Nord_culture
    Elfs: northern_european
    Orcs: middle_eastern
    Dwarfs: greek (I believe they use same buildings as empire..)
    Empire: southern_european
    But I need all of them before continuing working on our re-skinned settlements submod
