-HELP--Pikemen force primary weapon

how do I force a unit of pikemen to use their primary weapon (pike) without removing their secondary weapon. I know it can be done since I've seen it done in medieval 2 and rome tw mods. Also I'd like to know how to remove a secondary weapon in case I need to for some reason.

Do u mean that they should have pike all the time even in melee?

I mean that yes but I don't want to remove the sword. Or better yet fix the pikemen because pikemen are not reliable in m2tw. They often all switch to swords and often turn the opposite direction with their pikes leaving their backs to their enemies. pikemen are useless against infantry unless you micromanage them to make sure they behave themselves. Removing the sword makes pikemen completely unbeatable which is an effect i DON'T want. I simply want them to act like real pikemen. Only a single troop should switch to swords on a individual basis, not the entire unit.

Dual melee weapon infantry don't work, in my opinion. Or at least they fall so far beneath my standards that I cannot consider using them in my work. I've tried fixing it once and didn't achieve anything close to satisfaction.

To prevent a unit from using it's secondary weapon you just set it up in the EDU like any other unit with no secondary.

I concur with Taiji on that issue.

If you don't want Pikemen to be unbeatable lower their attack stats or something, but dual-wielding is not the answer.
