TOO MANY NICKNAMES INGAME!!

Alright, just as it says. In my opinion there are too many nicknames given to my characters when playing Rome, every member has the nickname the Pious or the Good or the Cunning. I hate that because I want to see their authentic ROman names. Does anyone know how these names I could disable in some script?

Do the names liek pious work through traits, because if they do just delete the traits i would have thought.

You don't need to delete the entire traits. Look for the file export_descr_character_traits.txt in the data file of your roman mod folder. Open it up, and search for the word 'Epithet'. This will take you to all the traits that have an epithet (an epithet is what you called nicknames), and just delete those lines. Not the whole trait. This will remove the nicknames while keeping the traits.

I think I am going to just AXE those dang 'epithets' because they are really annoying. The only ones really worthwhile are the Conqueror ones. So say bye-bye to them, they're getting expunged!

But please let Cognomen like "Magnus", "Africanus" and "Germanicus" in if they weren't already. Maybe some made up ones like Brittanicus (??) or Fallus would be a nice addition too.

Brittanicus (yay), Germanicus, Africanus and a couple of others for conquering certain areas are already included, but i dunno about things such as magnus- i would have thought that, that would be covered by your general becoming "the great".

I know at the moment that 'The Pious' appears way too often but we know that is going to be fixed.

I liked some of the titles that appeared 'The Conquerer', 'of the Eagles' etc.

Despite destroying Rome in my Carthage campaign none of my generals acquired 'of the Eagles' - in fact I don't recall one of them even capturing an Eagle of Rome (is it some sneaky tactic that Romans no longer take standards into battle?).

Similar situation here, only it was an enemy general and the nickname was "The Coward" (guess how he got what )

Search for epithet lines in EDCT. Delete those and you're set.

I would not AXE them completely. I love the "Master of Assassins" or the "Cruel" they are brilliant. Many Generals, emperors, senators had agnomens. Scipio Africanus for instance! Leave some please!!!
