    Default its a pity...

    That the navel battles are all fought in the middle of the ocean. It'd be nice to see some shore or even outcrops of rock to add to the mix

    It is a pity indeed. I miss the shore too, like in Rome Total War, where if you fight close to shore you can see the shore! You can even see the ships you just arrived in. But no, Empire total war does not like beaches.

    play it on algeria map only .

    When they revisit this period (anytime around 1550-1800) I would like like to see naval battles with sea forts/ports, and shoals, sandbars, and reefs as obstacles on the map. Maybe that will cure the perpetual "sail in a circle" battles that I always have and actually bring some strategy to the naval side of the game

    generally, they need to add more unique things to the battle maps. This is true for land battles to-I want to fight in paris dammit! not in some lame fort or random village!

    I'm looking at the back of the ETW box right now, and what do I see? Naval battle with coastline...
